i assume you have a decent degree as well.
3.5 is not high, if they offer and you feel its right go for it.
i am not sure about your line, i am with the IT and generally Singaporean PM =  7-10k.

yea to add on top of that, don't think of the *2.4, think of it as apple vs apple and exposure you can gain here.
decent room = $400 - 600 depend on what you are looking for, transpo = $50-60, food=$300, phone=$100 (this is my own expenditure, just to share with you)

The cheapest is probably those traditional Indian or Malay barbers. Around S$8. But quite hard to find nowadays.

Next is the quickie cut places in shopping centers where they cut your hair very quickly and vacuum you all over like a dog in a canine salon afterwards. S$10.

Then you'd have those salons. I hear it's about S$40-50 a haircut at places like Jean Yip. Cheaper if you go those Auntie or Ah Lian salons in the HDB estates.
