I will submit my PR application later this month without my employer signature (working less than 1 year), if my application approve, do I need my employer signature for the subsequent document? Thank you.
*
I don't think you'll need it.

Yo guys, need advice here. Let say I am clearing my leave during notice period, and I got letter from HR stating that they are OK if I join/work with another company during this period, is it really legitimate by SG labor/employment law for me to join another company?

add on... I'm with PR status.

Yaya felt the tremor too, it seems stronger than last time. While seeing many people rushing out from their offices and crowded outside the building, most colleagues and me staying in the office and not feeling like to move (or perhaps feeling like to suicide?). Sad...

i apply lots of singtel..rejected coz not PR

AFAIK, singtel does hire foreigners. However some of their jobs require security clearance due to regulation, thus they might prefer locals.

hi guys, i was offered 2.5k - 2.8k SGD to work in sg as a php programmer. do u guys think the offer is kinda low?

forget to mention, i got 3 yrs exp as php programmer
*
I guess it is a SG company tongue.gif. For 'true' MNCs, most of them will have some kind of salary standard, which should be very close to market figure that you can find out from Internet or recruitment agency. However, I'm not sure if it'll be easy to get a PHP programmer job from those good prospect companies.

No la, for EP, u need $2.5K and above.
*
AFAIK the $2.5K is just a referential figure. If applicant's job nature and qualification fit what SG government is looking for, $2.3K shouldn't be an issue for getting EP.

I have no issue with any other website though. Downloading torrents and direct downloads are fine. It's only LYN...  blink.gif

But if you're using Singtel BBOM and LYN is ok... then it can't be Singtel blocking the IP address.

Funny...
*
Using SingTel mobile BB and having same problem. Can't access lowyat.net but no issue for other websites. I suspect antivirus's security plugin for browser causes the problem, but no time to verify sad.gif

I'm using the free Microsoft Security Essentials. I didn't see any logs of LYN being blocked. And it doesn't matter if I'm using IE8, Firefox, Opera or Safari. Cannot access LYN via Singtel BBOM, even when I'm on VPN.

Do let me know what you find out.
*
Does the problem still persist? This morning I gave my luck a try again, it finally works. No sure what is the cause, but I'd not been able to access LYN for quite some time. I didn't change my antivirus setting, so should have nothing to do with it. Somehow, I'm still getting that error message intermittently while using Google to search. shakehead.gif

Unlike Indonesians degree holders, the employer must pay $1,800 minimum to hire them. Otherwise, the employer can be issued a huge penalty for not complying with this rule by the MOM.

I learn something new... I never aware of such rule before this.

i have around 4 years working experience with 2 years in bank and 1.5 years in telco... using SAS scripting language most of the time... but so far no luck in all my applications... but if i want to jump to another company in KL, there r plenty of options...  sad.gif  sad.gif
*
Base on my observation, not many jobs for developing telecom software in SG. AFAIK, major vendors for StarHub and M1 have their regional HQ in Malaysia, not too sure about SingTel's. Am considering either jump domain, or move back to Malaysia sad.gif. Any idea about KL's market rate for OSS/BSS job?

Yes, highly stress and pressure, it is like sitting in a pressure cooker waiting to explode. News of ppl jumping off from HBD due to work stress is very common. It is like everyday news.

Ppl here has no life, work, eat and sleep, the cycle goes on. So don't bother to come. You wil die of boredom here.

Did seantang use similar tactic before? tongue.gif

Or you can do freelance IT troubleshooting. Troubleshooting vmware servers cost around 300 an hour, minimum with a minimum charge of at least 3 hours.
*
$300 in Malaysia or Singapore? I know the course/certification is kinda expensive, but have no idea on this kind of lobang sad.gif

QUOTE(seantang @ Mar 11 2010, 04:52 PM)
That's what you get with e-REP. There was no option to renew more or less than 5 years.

I never realize that. Thanks for sharing smile.gif

300 in sing dollar, its not worth mt time it if charged in ringgit.

If you want 2 deploy and manage vmware vsphere 4, its cost is around sing 2200++ for the course if you go for the IT training center.

Its cheaper if you go and apply online from vmwares site and get their e-learning solution.
*
The course that I saw on Internet is an elemental course, more like an introductory to virtualization (out of a series of vmware training). That single elemental course itself costs few thousand dollars (like a scam huh, I can pick up those stuff in few hours self-study). By comparison, 2.2k for the training of deploy/manage vsphere appears more reasonable smile.gif. Does the training come with official vmware certificate?

By the way, on what kind of server (i.e. 1u server, blade server, ...) you normally deploy vmware? I'm a programmer thus not that familiar with hardware and networking, I wonder if vmware has any limitation on hardware platform/architecture.

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Mar 12 2010, 05:28 PM)
i receive an e-mail about this job as well. May i know what's the price they offering?
and its stated there its a contract position that will be converted to permanent after a year. doesn't feel safe working as a contract staff though.
*
I used to perceive that you are a contractor with Apple tongue.gif

Not really a scam since they give you a cert which is what your really after. A scam is if someone promises you something and doesnt deliver it, you get what you pay for, as long as you pass. The only question is do you think the cert is worth the money? And yes, you do get a cert from vmware after completing the course.
*
I simply feel that the course I saw is kinda unworthy, in comparison with the one you mentioned.
- introductory v.s. advanced/practical stuff
- costs a lot v.s. more reasonable cost
- both provide official certificate

Btw, you must be earning quite a handsome amount of pocket money... $300/hour shakehead.gif

What i care about is the practical knowledge i get from the course. The paper is just to show people that i have done the course.

Where did you see the course?
*
I read it back to a couple of months ago, from a link in Jobstreet learning newsletter that listing various courses/trainings.

May I know which feature of prepaid card make it more secure than debit card? I never use prepaid card before, don't quite understand how it works.
