thanks a lot, it is so hard to reach the service agent of ICA with hot line and i couldnt get my previous employer sad.gif. i guess i'll proceed without that. my current employer filled in the Annex-A, will it be better if i have testimonial from him? or Annex-A is enough?

Regarding the pay slip and  income tax notice of assessment, i just received the income tax notice of assessment (1st time after work in SG for 3 years), since i only have 1 should i bring the IRA8 form (given by my previous company and current company years ago) to prove my income for previous years?
*
congrats of V3, so fast... since the question is not answer so i quote it from V2

btw, mind to add me to the name list in the 1st post? B-Mecha, work in redhill, live in yew tee.

That's not the worst part....The agreement (luckily not signed yet), stated that light cooking is allowed, but when my gf ask about how "light" is light cooking, the owner says only we only allow to boil water and cook instant noodles!!!!!!

Is getting a room with decent housemates THAT HARD in spore??? My maximum budget is $700. Is this too low to get a decent place?
*
try to find choa chu kang or woodlands area, with 700 it is not hard to get a decent room (a bit hard for master bedroom). if the place is nice dont bother about cooking, usually house owner wont allow u to cook. my house owner doesn't even allow me to use gas stove, only a tiny electric water boiler so i can cook instant noodles.

hi guys, i got an important update for PR application.

applicant need to have appointment for the full submission!!!!!

this morning, i went to lavender ICA building at 7am. the officer told me that i need to have appointment before i can do the full submission. i can go through e appointment or submit the Form 4A (the application form) WITHOUT the supporting documents into the drop off box at the ICA building (which is what i did). 3-5 working days later ICA will send me a appointment letter and assign me a time to do the full submission (need to bring the supporting documents + photocopy).

they just changed it not long ago so... sad.gif

hi guys and gals, I'm here again...
I am a fresh graduate and I've got a job in SG...
today, I received my letter of appointment...
but, I'm not sure about something...

ANNUAL LEAVE
Seven (7) days'-annual leave shall be granted to you after completion of one yea/s service
with the Company.

Who can tell me about this? It means I only have 7days annual leave? I only can apply for my annual leave after one year?
I will start my work on july...but, I'm blur about all these...
*
means that u have to work one year for the company, then they will give u 7 days of annual leave. yes any leave u apply before one year is not annual leave. check with ur employer / HR / colleague about this.

Hi all, would like to know if we were taxed in SG, will Msia gov. tax us again when we bring the money back here?
*
base on the info i gather, for 3 years working in sg i declared my income in singapore, so i don't have to declare again in malaysia. so no tax from malaysia, only sg. as i read from some law related site income only need to declare once in either sg or malaysia.

Just for your information, my whole family is in Singapore now beginning this year. If I find a job in Malaysia, I will be alone while all of them is in Singapore.
*
if that's the case, good luck and continue to wait till there is a suitable job offer. else u can look for job in malaysia, thailand or other countries like china, taiwan, australia. if there is really no luck in singapore and u dont have the urgency to get a job, just sit n relax or get some short term course to study.

Yeah! I still remember those idiotic local Uni give me ******* subjects that completely not related, at the end forced get loan and study MMU. i rather donate all tax to poor people than feeding the uni's leeches. my friend said they pay bloody high for those whoever doctor & phd.

Not snatch. Perhaps if it's snatch theft then the police would give more attention to it.
My own mistake as well. Placed the bag against the wall behind me and somehow someone managed to nick it in front of me and my friends.
This is in Bugis area. Nowadays I am more careful. smile.gif
*
we should remain our awareness in SG as well. take care of our bags, be extra careful when cross the zebra crossing... everywhere also got crime, we should try to prevent it.

is that so? i c, thanks for your comment..
How about same person with same scenario but married to a PR?
Will it be much higher chance this way?
*
nope, there are chances that u fail to become a PR even u married to a PR or even singaporean depending on your condition. you can apply for dependent pass in this case. i dont think u can apply for work with dependent pass, and it order to get the pass ur partner must have sufficient income to sustain both of u.

the criteria is u need to complete a course dip or deg
and that institution must be 1 of the singapore edu body

n yes...the G will send an invitation letter for u to become PR
*
i'm looking for a institute to study as well. is MIS (marketing institute of singapore) one of the singapore edu body?

but ceom back malaysia work at singapore based company.
no need pay cpf but need pay epf.

Is not my employer do not want to contribute CPF, is me that do not want to contribute it. I just want to earn some fast money here in SG for 5 years and bring the money back to Msia for business.
Got this kind of job? Earn SGD in Malaysia?
*
i dont get what u mean. as long as the singapore company is paying u (PR) as an employee they will submit the portion to CPF, regardless where you are. unless u r transferred to the country and employed under the company over there. but in that case why u need singapore PR?

if u want to work in malaysia and earn sgd, think of an idea to allow sg company to outsource their job to u in malaysia, like how india company provide call center and IT support to US. then u can earn long term money. i got designer friend do freelance for US client and earning USD, how u think?

Has anyone been actively looking for a job during the period?

A lot of my peers are resigning without a job this quarter and finding it hard to secure a post in any of the banks.

The other day, my junior was interviewing one of the HR personnel and he mentioned that they've received 400 over application for a post of Finance Manager and out of that, 100 plus were applicants from my company. I was dumbfolded!

I've just tested the market recently (last saturday) and to date, yet to receive any interview offer. Gosh, this is freaking me out.

As I know Boon Lay shopping center (not jurong point) have a few money changer that can remit money back to certain malaysia bank with much lower cost and better exchange rate. But it is kinda far for me, check the shop if u stay near that area smile.gif
