I'm not so sure if I should post this topic here. For those who are familiar with S&M shop/store, located next to Kotaraya and across the Petaling Street's bridge, the building will close down soon.

I just went there today and was curious when I saw most of the shop set up 'Stock Clearance' sign. For those who do not know about this place, it is a place where you can buy affordable anime VCD and DVD, korean and japanese drama, movies, music videos (MV), concert, etc. You can also buy mobile phone, clothes, etc there.

I assure you that I'm not one of the shop owner biggrin.gif It's just that I'm a bit worried about where can I find other anime 'paradise' if this place going to shut down for whatever reason. The other place I know is in Sungei Wang.

I asked some of the shopkeepers where can I locate them after the closing and they either said "I'm not sure" or "Perhaps in Chinatown". I think only one particular shop already secure its place in Petaling Street --> Hero Comics.

Right now, they are busy clearing their stock. You can find lots of korean MVs such as Superjunior, Mirotic, Se7en, etc. being sold at half price (about RM25 to RM35). The same goes with Korean and Jap drama as well as the anime videos. Ah yes, the video set such as Supernatural, Tudors, and Smallville are quite cheap as well. Normally, the price is about RM 70+, now the price is RM35.

Yes, yes, I know you shouldn't trust something that has become too cheap to be true. That's why you must buy them carefully. Check the subtitles. If you can understand Korean or Japanese, that's just great. However, if the subtitles make you dizzy for the whole day, then you will regret for the whole month.

Ah yes, one more thing; the shopkeepers said that the place will shut down on June. This is the simple map to the S&M store:

From the Petaling Street, cross the bridge and ta daaa! You will arrive at the S&M lot. Go inside, go to the third level for videos, comics, games, etc. I think you will find clothes and mobile phones at affordable price there too.

Hermm? Soft toys? Are you talking about teddy bear? I don't think I saw any soft toys shop.

PS: For those who thought S&M means something else, go lock yourself in the store room and meditate whistling.gif

Pirated product? Hmmm... never thought about that before. I thought maybe there was some sort of deal between the store and a third party. But yeah, videos are absolutely pirated if they are fansubs.

Herm, if the animes that you have been collected priced more than RM 80, would you buy them as much as you want? Unless you have a big salary, you will not be able to collect more than 30 animes and dramas as most of us did. I'm so sorry to say this but normally the one that I saw in speedy video and other video store, which have price tags RM80++ are actually the same with the one in S&M. I did buy a video from a store in Mid Valley. The price...yeah looks like original but the video...urghh...waste of money.

Well, unless Malaysians have more choices and buying powers then most of us will continue to buy the 'affordable' products. For me, how about setting up a legal suit against all those companies and then persuade anime production companies from Japan to set up their buildings here? That way, maybe we can get more original videos hmm.gif And... how about blocking all torrent software? Hehe...then we shall see.... cool2.gif

ps: Alright, better open a new topic about pirated animes and dramas shall we?

Oh my, reading about those bootlegs made me dizzy. It was the first time I ever heard about 'bootlegs'. Well, I am not familiar with the word, so pls forgive me biggrin.gif

Yeah, there are some PS shops and game shops. Clothes and eyeglasses on the first floor, mobile phone on the ground floor; err what's on the second floor? Hmm, maybe mobile phone accessories, bags and some clothes I think (sometimes foreigners go there to buy cheap shirts). And yeah, on the third floor the game and anime shops. I am thinking about buying the Korean mvs. Maybe later.

However, there is no ATM machine in the S&M, you can draw money from the ATM machines in Kotaraya or go to Maybank (across the parking lot next to Putra LRT station). Kotaraya is always full with Indonesians, Myanmars, etc workers (mind you, I am not racist. They always like to loiter there) so pls be careful with your belongings and money especially when you are drawing money from the ATM machines there

If you are concern about using a shortcut to go there, just go ride the Putra LRT to Pasar Seni, cross the parking lot (across you'll see the 7-Eleven and Pusat Tuisyen Kasturi), from 7 eleven walk right next and in front of Maybank, walk straight until the Popular bookstore is at your right, cross the road and you'll see the Petaling Street. After you cross the road, walk straight and then turn left. You'll see the pintu gerbang far in front of you. Walk straight again, look for McDonald at the right side and then look for the bridge. Cross the bridge and you'll see the place.

Personally, I think going there via the Petaling Strt is safe enough. The rumours about the Petaling Street is full with hooligans are not true at all. Just be cautious when you are walking there. Don't go showing off your wallets and money. Just smile, ignore and walk fast if anyone call you to look at their merchandise (in case you are not interested). As a 'faster walker' you'll be blessed in any situation tongue.gif. There is one shop in Petaling Strt that sells anime, drama, etc as well --> Hero Comics

ps: Can anyone buy me a PS as well? hehehehh brows.gif Eh, any other shops that I should know about around KL?
