Hello guys,i need a lil bit of identification help here~
This sling looks like Psalmopoeus Irminia or Psalmopoeus Cambridgei?
I bought this as P. Irminia but it seems more like P. Cambridgei to me.
coz i kept a P. Irminia sling before this and the "tiger stripes" marking is much more obvious than how it looks at those pictures below~

* sorry for the lousy picture quality, these are the best i could capture~

and wat do u guys normally use for climbing furniture for those arboreal Ts?
coz i placed a wood vertically(lean on container's wall) in the container but after 2 days white color fungus started to grow at the bottom of the wood due to contact wif humid soil~
guess tats not a good thing for my Ts...

Thx~

Some internet sources tell tat it can grow to 6inches within a year if well fed,but LOL,i doubt tat~

I'd recommend sexing again at around 3 inches.  Sometimes things are hard to see even when sexing the exuvia.
Also, place the exuvia on something transparent, shine a light from below then take a pic.  A difference in lighting can help reveal things more clearly.

hi guys~
need help here.
I was spending almost 2 hours daily juz for killing ants tat invade my Ts' enclosures and those on the shelf tat i put my Ts.
Eventhou i killed 1000 of them, there're still another 1000 of them waiting for me the next day i wake up.
really pissed me off~Geramnya~~~ vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif
So i made a container filled wif water and put them at each of the "legs" of the shelf im using to put my Ts.
And guess wat, those ants even go inside the water and attempt to swim across to reach the shelf.
Althou 90% of them will drown in the sea,but i was suprise tat there're still survivors!!!
So,the conclusion is,the water method doesnt work.
They can ignore their life juz to mess wif my Ts.

All the while im putting my Ts in my room.
when i 1st started wif ony 1 tarantula, there's no ants problem.
Now as my Ts number increasing, the amount of ants also increasing~!
I clean my Ts' enclosure everytime after they eat, there's no visible food leftover.
And i can ony place my Ts in my own room coz im living wif housemates.

Any other method i can prevent those ants?

thx~

I use commercial ant bait.  Ants go in grab the stuff and return to the colony.  Wipes out the colony.  Usually takes 2-3 days.  4 days tops and no more ants.  But Malaysia is a different story- got so many different kinds of ants!  Not sure if it will work but it's worth a shot.
where can i get this?
thx

QUOTE(dizzychef @ Aug 17 2009, 04:35 AM)
Austin, i myself did had some ants but didn't cause much problem as they are sugar ants and go for sweet item and leftover mealies which stop when i started to clean my room frequently.

Did you tried those ants powders(poison)? It can elimintate a huge colony of ants.
*
and where i can get this as well?
are u talking about the same thing as Oldfart or its a different thing?
i'd like to try both.
