leetplayer : Isn't it a tad bit dangerous to put them that close together? Imho a communal setup should be way larger than that. Haven't tried it out myself though. I'm building an OBT setup as well, still thinking about the decos and shizzos and plus my recent animal addition in to my collection of animals burned quite a hole in my pocket! HyourinMaru : I believe the whackiest T that can deliver a real memorable bite at the moment is the Stromatopelma Calceata? But then again, best not to mess with them at all regardless the species imho.

QUOTE(littlesaint @ Jun 15 2009, 01:07 AM) they are not dangerous if no1 plays with them, but referring to venom, the genus poecilotheria has quite potent venom, and ive also read that a stromatopelma calceata venom can cause heart attacks QUOTE(Oldfart @ Jun 15 2009, 01:43 AM) I've also read some bad bite reports on Heteroscodra maculata and Hysterocrates gigas. Haplopelma schmidti and Haplopelma hainanum are also supposed to have pretty potent venom. What kind are they? I've got 3 slings and 2 juvies arriving in the next day or two too! Added on June 15, 2009, 11:20 pmQUOTE(chloelew @ Jun 15 2009, 06:06 AM) hahaha.... itchy isn't it? nice hobby this is.... It's only itchy if you get haired. I don't stick my hand in their cages often so I hardly ever get haired. I find if they have a safe place to retreat, they tend to retreat rather than stay out and hair. Fortunately I do not own any psycho T's, most just run and hide in their burrows if I have to disturb their enclosures. It is a great hobby! Be careful when changing the water dish- someone on BTS forum just got tagged by a P. lugardi when he reached in to remove the water dish. The T just rushed out of its burrow and BAM! He thought it was safe to reach in with his hands because the T was in its burrow.
