junshern: make photobucket account lolz.
fallenangel: colour fading is a sign of stress and probably trying to blend with the environment. (crappy theory of mine) should be ok kot. ~~should wait for T pros to explain further~~

some tarantulas have their colors fade to a dull coloration when they are approaching their molting period.
I ain't going to comment about the unusual theory however fading because of stress, I won't say it's true of not but perhaps we should ask the people who handle or disturb their tarantula a lot.

come to think of it the exoskeleton are made up of chitin which is a membrane made up of strong protein that doesn't grow but similarly the polymer is somewhat close to that of keratin; human hair, hooves, horns.
now do that hair and all change colour due to environment?
well its a no unless a long period of time taken they might changed due to evolution.
however, there is a slight possibility that human may not understand yet if they develop such mechanism.
as all the mantis and lizard does if they were to belong in the same mecha~
