could you guys give some advise on how to choose a pair of shin guards? or maybe recommend some decent ones i can look out for. will be joining a 5-a-side football weekly kickabout session, but i've been informed that i must wear shin guards to be allowed to play.

errr...not THAT willing to spend RM100 for shin guards. i'm no Scholes. haha
currently living in UK...so maybe the RM15 pairs will be harder to come by. i saw a few Umbro ones going on sale for £3 (around RM15, after conversion), but when i tried them on they didn't feel comfortable. after some time looking & trying around, settled on Adidas T50 Replique for just under £10. not sure if considered a good price or not. supposed to be discounted from about £12. think the sizing for it was confusing...if i were to follow it, i should be a size M since i am 5'3" only. but i thought that L size was a better fit. maybe because of my build? or that model's sizes are on the small side? btw, nice jersey collection there! i only have 4 jerseys, 1 of which my mum gave away to a cleaning lady... |

QUOTE(giotto @ Nov 15 2010, 01:43 PM) Try www.kitbag.com or www.prodirectsoccer.com. They've got tonnes that you can choose from. I must say the awareness and importance of wearing shinguards is far more recognised than in KL. Here, when you wear shinguards, you're labelled a sissy. thanks for the links! If you've seen images of both the shoes, it would be quite obvious that one is for turf/artificial grass and the other is for flat surface like ruberised court. settled for this F50 Replique pair in the end... ![]() & i think the reason why the kickabout session i'm joining in is so particular about the shinguards is more because of the place uses FA qualified referees tho. even for the kickabout sessions. but then again, it's probably a good idea to have proper referees still...can make sure no bad challenges or disagreements & that ppl are playing properly or understand the rules better. & players can live to kick the ball around another day...
