btw, i bought the Absolado version of the new Predator LZ and even had the time to test it out.
Just my opinions though.
First impressions:
- the boots looks stunning(some people dislike it) in person. the orange really stands out on the blue upper
- the 'dribble' and 'first touch' zones are printed on the upper with some dimples(first touch zone) and recessed (dribble)
- the 'sweet spot' zone is a bit raised from the upper.
- the 'pass' pad has decent amount of memory foam (not as thick as the LZ)
- the 'drive' zone is the most textured of all the zones on this boot and has a fair amount of thickness.
- MiCoach slot available under the left boot insole.
- a bit tight at first. i guess it'll stretch the longer you wear them.
- the upper material has a leather finish to mimic the 'Hybrid touch" material on the LZ
- new stud pattern * needs getting used to for people who never used the adizero stud pattern
Lethal zones:
Pass- one of the reasons i like this boot. it cushions the ball when you are stopping a fast ball. Feels good when u pass the ball.
Drive- shooting in these shoes are great. it adds more 'ummphh' to your shots. if use properly, knuckleballs would be a breeze.
First touch- has an orange print with dimples in the upper. nothin special but atleast u know where to stop an air ball
Dribble- its just printed and recessed on the upper. it wont perform as well as the LZ in this department
Sweet spot- i have problems using the sweet spot. i guess my technique is wrong but u could get some spin with the right technique.
My personal opinion:
- good shoes for people for the price ( RM260 at adidas outlets)
- Drive and Pass zones are useful and satisfying
- other zones look more like a 'guide' than a predator element
- stud pattern needs some getting used to for first time adizero stud pattern users
- narrow fit and a bit tight *mybe a fewmore sessions can make the upper stretch a bit
- soft upper with leathery finish, padded tongue, grippy synthetic heel liner
