Guys. I got my Garmin XT GPS to work till the part... Acquiring satellites... its stuck there forever...

I turned off GPRS (because I do not want to pay for the internet access) and selected "Use Built-In GPS".

Is there even any possible way to set it up so I don't have to pay anything? Cos the Maxis guy told me I need internet access to improve the GPS. I just want free GPS that's all.

Thanks.

Ok here is my setting.

GPS Info: Assisted GPS
When I click the third button its written "disabled" then two choices:
[ ] Use Bluetooth GPS
[x] Use Built in GPS

When I click enable (seems weird got last devices used)... I click cancel here bcos I cannot select the any of the choices(my friends handphone names).

Map shows I am still stuck in Europe. Must I put a nearer location to Msia so the satellites can search? (New Location?) It keeps saying seaching for satellite.

Sometimes I get up to 5 satellite connected (five bars with diff colour-red, blue and green) but seems like cannot get good resolution to get me my location (all bunched up at the North). Speed 0km/h and elevation 300m.

Help me to set this up for the newbie! unsure.gif

Yes. MFMv158. The generated map saved into the Garmin folder.
