greetings, future owner here
1. i need to use the GPS function frequently around KL and Klang Valley areas. is the phone's GPS function good? accurate? 2. how is the phone's performance compared to other phones in the same price range? e.g. N82, SE C905 3. how is the battery life with frequent GPS usage, phone calls and smses? 4. any recommendations on where to buy? will the shop include Garmin software? 5. read somewhere that new batch of 5800 has earpiece fix, and new screen for better finger navigation, is that new batch out? Thanks This post has been edited by cyew86: Jun 11 2009, 11:09 PM |

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Jun 11 2009, 10:49 PM) greetings, future owner here 1. Its pretty decent. Of course, cannot compare with a standalone GPS but its good enough.1. i need to use the GPS function frequently around KL and Klang Valley areas. is the phone's GPS function good? accurate? 2. how is the phone's performance compared to other phones in the same price range? Thanks 2) Have no idea... haven't tried the other phones. 3) If you use GPS, confirm that day itself the battery drained. Life average is 1 day. Yes you have to charge everyday. For me, moderate usage I can get 2 days. 4) some dude called e_trade_pj or smtg like that... yea he does include for you. 5) the new batch is out since early this year... btw the time i bought in March its already fixed. |

QUOTE On April 17, 2009 DigiTimes reported that Nokia plans to release Nokia 5800 with induction display instead of resistive one which is used in the original model. According to Mobile-Review.com, induction display is believed to be more fit for thumb operation where stylus is not used. New model is expected to ship in May or June of 2009.[13] In mid-May 2009, DigiTimes has written that new induction sensor screen components for Nokia are about to be produced by Synaptics. |

PLEASE NOTE THAT A PHONE GPS COMES WITH A NEGATIVE THING IS. A standalone GPS takes like 5 to 30 sec to lock to GPS When phone might take 10mins to 20 mins to lock depending on your location and if u want fast lock u can use a-gps and it comes with a cost This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Jun 11 2009, 11:42 PM |

QUOTE(icechiller555 @ Jun 11 2009, 01:23 PM) Ok guys, just tested this application. really cool and must have application for tube user. The software called MobiFun Soft Smart Settings can be seen here http://dailymobile.se/forum/index.php/topic,7650.0.html So far this is what it can do: 1. you can program the phone to unlock using any keys, or combination 2. program the music express button to open this application 3. when this application opens it is full of shortcuts 4. it does not consume much RAM at all as evident by my 51.2 mb free RAM while the app is still running Conclusion: a must have app for the 5800 XM. If anyone wants to know more (about the app, or how to get the app) feel free to PM me. Screenshots as follows: Images taken from www.dailymobile.se now i dont have to use slide keyguard. can lock and unlock the phone using this application. i can put as many shortcut i want at the front page. thank you icechiller555 |

No prob man,
I have been using this app since yesterday and I simply love it. Don't use the slider to unlock anymore. Using the combo end call, call button to unlock the phone. Now don't have to worry that the slider will get loose also for the shortcuts if you select mediabar, then the default mediabar becomes the shortcut for the app, so when you click the mediabar, tons of shortcuts come up This post has been edited by icechiller555: Jun 12 2009, 10:52 AM |
