It will be better if you provide more info like what is the sources you will always use with (Astro, DVD, Bluray, PS3 games etc). Also your viewing distance to determine what size is suitable for you.

For Astro, it's better to get Plasma. Panasonic 42" X10 is a good buy at less than RM3k. For Bluray, I prefer Full HD LCD although I think Full HD plasma should be fine too.

if watch movie with real people, get plasma. if watch CG movies like chicken little and games, get lcd. plasma have no blur around moving objects and people look more natural because of the colors. Lcd colors are deep and CGs look much more better. watching CGs on plasma gives it a washed out color. compared it at midvalley harvey norman.
