Wii had House of Dead 2 & 3 return & House of Dead Overkill released, seems not many people talking about them.

Tried to play House of Dead 3 whole afternoon but this game is too hard. Max credit is 9 & max life is 5, seriously it is not enough to beat the final boss! Anyone beat this game?

First few times i was playing on normal then I had credit increased and played on easy & very easy, but seems the difficulty has increased by switching from Normal to easy & very easy, does this have anything to do with increased credits? For example the plant boss in normal with little credit i had no problem shooting all 3 tentacles but on very easy with max credit i can only shoot 1 or 2.

Nah. But a tip for you, there's always a pattern. And switching on the reticule always helps.

I think gundamalpha beat the game already.

But that was by luck.. no doubt HotD 3 is a difficult game with Wiimote. The arcade shotgun makes the game much more easier nod.gif

I don't think aiming with Wiimote is difficult, but I seriously think when I played normal with less credit it was much much easier to beat the plant boss than very easy with max credit.

Gundamalpha can post your save game file up?

playing wif wiimote only is difficult, well at least it is for me...

after getting my gun attachment, it's a lot easier for me to aim faster, shoot faster and also get more accurate aim, compared to using just the wiimite only.

something like Nyko perfectshot will help a lot, and forget the Wii Zapper, it sucks

I got mine from playasia, but it has since out of stock until now.

I just got House of the Dead Overkill (many thanks to CZHJon for selling me his copy). I can safely say that it is the best HotD series I've ever played. One grip I have with the manual is that it stated the reload button is A but there is no mention of shaking the wii-mote to reload (which also works). I discovered it after playing it for almost 2 hours.

House of the Dead Overkill features a grindhouse movie look complete with cheesy music, and voice acting (Varla Guns anyone?). Playing it is a blast and the in game cutscenes are fun to watch, especially with Detective Washington's expletives filled dialog and rants (mostly the latter).

The game also features a lot of unlockables, most notably is the Director's Cut version (longer levels and meaner, tougher zombies mutants and extra weapons (which must be purchased with in-game credits obtained from beating the high scores of each level) such as the SMG, and Shotgun. Each weapon can be further customised with an array of options (extra ammo, less recoil, extra damage, shorter reload time etc.) Each player can carry a different configuration of weapons. My favorite being the SMG (with extra clips, extra damage) and the Shotgun (with extra damage, less recoil, extra clips) combo. My friend prefers a pistol (with extra damage, shorter reload time) and Shotgun combo. We had a blast (literally) playing it.

All in all, a run romp into Hicktown, USA. Highly recommended after the disappointing House of the Dead 2 & 3. And what more, it is exclusively for the wii.

House of the Dead 2 & 3 for the wii was repackage as one disc on the wii. They are essentially remakes of the arcade version minus the excitement of playing co-op with a stranger and dropping quarters into the machine. I have played the arcade version to death in our local arcades so I wasn't particularly interested in the 'remake'.

House of the Dead Overkill, however, was built ground up for the wii and it is also a wii exclusive. Something we as wii owners should be proud off. Also, there are more options in Overkill, such as customising your weapons and choosing your own weapons. There are also 3 very fun mini games in Overkill, all of which are carefully thought out instead of being there 'just because'.

There is nothing more satisfying than blowing up mutants with your automatic shotgun while your buddy spray bullets with the SMG. Then, there are grenades... and slow mo-fo power ups .... and golden brains ..... and of course, the ever present Medi-Kits... and the sexy stripper Varla Guns (fight her as a naked mutant on the last chapter which I think was partially the reason for the M rating).

Guns, boom sticks and Naked chicks ... now that's what I call a great game..

And oh, the controls are tight, graphics are really good (for a wii title), nice cheesy storyline and tons of unlockables (extra mutants option, director's cut, 3D models gallery, movie gallery, lots of weapons to purchase and use, customisable weapons, etc. etc.).

2+3 wasn't a remake, it was a mere port. The only thing it can't beat it's arcade counterpart is using the Wiimote as the gun. If 2/3 was great game then, then the only reason it's bad now is they don't age well. For fun and enjoyment paying with strangers is very subjective, I for one never enjoyed playing with strangers.

A few cut scenes with Varla Guns has her blouse expose her nipples.

On the last level, you will fight a naked Varla Guns with full frontal nudity.

Just to chip in, yeah House of Dead 3 is hard. Managed to beat it on normal but u have to have around 2 credits extra to survive the very RIDICULOUS last boss.

For some odd reason aiming with the wiimote is harder compared to the arcade. Also, the more I play the plant boss, the more he changes his pattern so I do not think it has to do with u changing difficulty. Might be your hands getting tired. brows.gif
