basically is the same.. both still produce 12v.. but ns70 will last longer than ns60 IF your battery is not charging.. for example, if u forgot to off ur headlamp with ns60, next morning u may not start ur engine.. but if ns70, u might be able to do so.. just an example

QUOTE(ah liew @ May 15 2009, 11:20 PM) so the size differs.... that means it cannot fit in any cars? actually there's a list of compatible types of car batteries provided by the car battery supplier at those acc shops. Sometimes those acc ppl will paste it there on the wall for reference. It will state this car is compatible for which type of battery and that car for which type of battery.... exp: wira - NS 60/70 (so both type also able to use) This post has been edited by Mcrae: May 15 2009, 11:26 PM

ns60 and ns70 both have different number of plates inside. 60 have 11 plates, 70 have 13 plates. also 60 means 60AH... if you pull 60A of current at 12V, the battery will last 1 hour. so 70 will last slightly longer..
if you switch on your headlight... the std wattage is 60W. meaning it's pulling 5A current ( P=IV; 60=12I; I=5A). 2 bulbs is 10A... thus with 60A if you leave your headlight on, the battery will flat in 6hours. with 70A it will flat in 7 hours.
also depending on your alternator... if your alternator is 60A and you're using NS70. you're overloading your alternator. it'll take much longer time to charge. but in the opposite way, by using 70A alternator on NS60.. you will not overcharge the battery as you have a regulator built in the alternator.

Depending on actual size & plates inside. Don't judge purely on model no. alone. I once used a NS50 in my Wira. Yeah, NS50! Many ppl never heard of it. Maybe no longer in production. It's bigger in size than NS60.

If you dare, why not try N200 series of battery? This battery usually use by ship. By the way, I usually saw Mercedes using DIN battery. Added on June 16, 2009, 9:26 pmOh ya! N200 size is huge and heavy. This post has been edited by low98944: Jun 16 2009, 09:26 PM
