I can attest to that

+1 to samick/gregbennett.
they have a very good quality/price ratio IMO.
they are better than lower end to the midrange Epi's compared to cheaper higher end Samicks Av-3(compared to low end epi's),Av-6 or Av,-7(compared to midrange epi's).
The AV-6 spalted maple top looks really nice but dun't know if u can get it in malaysia...
the only problem is the design is not 100% LP(maybe dunt want to get sued). There is a curvature at the body that does not follow the LP design..

never tried SX but might be good also..

I have a SX LP custom copy. However I am just newbie in electric guitar, no comment.
But my guitar works well, hehehe

Whats the feeling when when you put the guitar on your thigh ?
I feel that LP's curvature make the body gets further from me, thus causing the neck closer ( which means easier to reach the lower & upper neck ).
I using strat now, such a big difference
