White screen: need a suggestion here. ^^

That is all i need right ? Anything else i need to put to make it a real HT room ?

ok,here come the question.
1.Is there any better projector than AX-200 in that kind of price range ? (5-7k)
2.Most of the time, what i heard from people,Bose is a waste of money. But i do thinking of it because im confident with their brand since
im using their headset, speechless.Im here to ask some suggestion if u guys can give me some other brand that i should consider since
im such a noobiee. ^^
3.What and where i should buy the white screen ?

Really appreciate all your advice. smile.gif

WOOOOO!!!!!!! HOLD ON THERE BRO,18K FOR BOSE HOME THEATER IN A BOX?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I THINK YOU BETTER BROWSE AROUND THE FORUM,THERES A LOT OF DISCUSSION REGARDING SPEAKER,AV RECEIVERS AND SO ON.MY ADVISE IS TRY TO AVOID HOME THEATER IN A BOX IF YOUR PLANNING TO HAVE A DEDICATED HT ROOM WITH PROJECTOR AND ALL.UNLESS ITS A SMALL BEDROOM.SPEAKER BRANDS SUCH AS KLIPSCH,PSB,DEFINITIVE TECH,KEF, SOOO MUCH MORE TO MENTION!.AND AV RECEIVERS SUCH AS YAMAHA,ONKYO,DENON,MARANTZ...AND FOR THE PROJECTOR IS THINK ITS BEST IF YOU GO FULL HD,JUST ADD ANOTHER 4 TO 5K AND YOU WILL GET FULL HD,DAMN WORTH IT,BRANDS SUCH AS OPTOMA,INFOCUS,PANASONIC ALSO HAS ITS RANGE OF FULL HD PROJECTORS.CUT DOWN THE BUDGET FOR SPEAKERS AND TOP UP FOR PROJECTOR,SO MAINTAIN SPEAKER SYSTEM BUDGET FROM 18K TO 14K.WITH 14 K STILL SO MUCH YOU CAN SPEND ON!!

Yes, AVR stands for AV receiver. It does 2 thing mainly, decode the sound and also amplify the signal and sent it to the speaker. In another words, it's an amplifier + decoder

yeap, i am going to suggest this also

receiver can change to onkyo 806 or even 875, while speakers set get klipsch RF-52 or RF62 is great

the money you save can get a good Blu ray player and the rest buy blu ray disc biggrin.gif

and again, spending 5.5k on a HDready projector is not worth it since optomo HD65 is good enuf, and most important its cheap (around rm3k, can get lower if you buy all your stuff from 1 person)

if got the budget, get a Full HD projector (around rm10k) such as HD803, infocus x10

All I can say, if you're gonna do a Special HT room, try going for 2 subwoofers.

Check this out for my above statement

BMB is a premium karaoke product, which comes with a premium price tag. At that price, you can get better set albiet not as well known as BMB

Seriously, I would give Bose a miss. Bose is a lifestyle product mainly for those with space constraint. Frankly speaking, it AQ doesn't impress me.

My suggestion to you, bro, for your HT setup (instead of wasting RM18k just for BOSE HTIB, phewwww)

1. Full HD Projector (ex: Optoma etc)
2. Blu-Ray player( ex: Sharp BP-21 or those capable of TrueHD and Master Audio format, latest player in 2009)
3. AV Receiver (ex: Onkyo TX-SR606 that support Full HD Audio TrueHD etc)
4. Long HDMI that has enough bandwidth for 1.3V, future proof)
5. 16 x 9 projector screen
6. 5.1 speakers (depending on room size for Tall boys or small mounting speakers)
7. Optional: cinema seats, pop corn machine, soft drink machine etc..

finally... enjoy the movie and your set-up

I'm a proud owner of the Klipsch RF52 & RC52, and I'm liking it alot.
If you'd ask me, I'll go for the Klipsch, with 18K you can get the complete 62's with sub + PJ&Screen + a BDPlayer.

I think htkaki is able to lend a hand in setting up speakers, PJ & Screen + Acoustic treatments & Sound Proofing.
Tweaks & Calibrations are really important. Try asking him.

Hi guys.

Im in sg rite now.
Just now went to Sim Lim mall.
I got 1 offer for a HT setup.
Heres the Component.

Currency rate 2.45

Wharfedale 9 HT set,5.1 for SD 2300=MYR 5635.
Sub using Sw 150.

For amp,he recommend me Denon AVR 2809 for SD 1500=MYR3675.

I ask him about onkyo AVR,but he said onkyo is hot when running.
About the speaker,is it cheap compared to Malaysia shop ?
Some more,he said the sound quality for Wharfedale is smooth compared to klipsch.

Any advise for me ?
Thanks guys, really need yours advice. smile.gif

I think you should pm htkaki, he's now selling the wharfy as well. as for the amp i think some forumers here are getting the marantz 6003 from him as well.

for 5.6K i think you can get better 5.1 than the wharfy .. could get a velo 10" with that budget i guess.

I'm using onkyo 905 very powerfull & full DSP support. Its hot (not so) but all class A amp is also hot (my tube amp also very hot).

If I have the budget like yours I will audition Mirage complete set (very small but special)or MS Mezzo complete AV set or Paradigm Reference & Signature or Klipsh RF-82 or MA Silver & Bronze set and last KEF Reference. Wow! They all my dream HT set matching with Velodyne or Paradigm subwoofer. All set also excellent with music & may be not touch RM18k budget.

Cheapest from all may be MS Mezzo (Mezzo 2 + 5 + 8 + sub). We could audition all this in Malaysia(Amcorp). Sorry if 'syok sendiri'.
