Finally got my Wii in US
Console (USD199.99) + Wii Fit Plus (USD99.99) + Remote (USD39.99) + Nunchuck (USD19.99) = USD 391.46 (include tax)

Do anyone know where can i get original 220V Wii adapter in Penang?
Tesco Penang no longer sell Wii, the counter is moved out already!!

Thanks...

an LCD with component cable is still decent enough to view wii games. Or u can just buy a flat crt tv which is much much cheaper smile.gif

Is there any significant difference between composite and component cable?
I am using the original composite and sometimes feel the graphics not that good.

Thinking to get a component cable. Any idea what is price? original or replacement price?
Googled found to be USD20++, quite expensive for original.

Thanks for answering. I got it.
Sorry USD20++ maybe not clear. Actually it is USD27.99 from Amazon.com

Thinking to get a very cheap one from dealextreme, only USD5. Not sure worth or not and it maybe just dont work especially when you are buying something from mighty dragon land.

Get an original one.
If you decided to mod it, you can do it later.

If you get a modded one, why you want to unmod it since it is not covered by genuine warranty anymore.

I knew a lot of people will in deep dilemma whether to choose modded or unmodded when they start to buy a Wii. I'm one of them too....

I am here not to support modded or unmodded.
From my opinion, or what i had already done, get a unmodded Wii!! You can opt to mod it later or not to. Do plenty of research and googled it. You can find plenty of information on that.

I have to tell you that you have no choice to spend some time to study the difference. I personally spend a few months to study before i decided to do that.

Once you had studied a lot, then you will know you are worth to do that or not.

Hey wii members.

Is it worth to get wii motion plus?

Are there many games using this aside from the new wii sports?
*
Currently not much game support Motion Plus

I had Sports Resort and Grand Slam Tennis.
To me, Sports Resort is fun and it is included one Wii Motion Plus (bought from US)
Grand Slam Tennis with or without motion plus not much difference, or maybe i dont really feel the difference.

You can refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_MotionPlus for games supported

i will be travelling to the states end of the month and i love tiger woods pga tour 11. currently playing on ps3, but thinking of getting the wii console and the game, wii sports too. anything to lookout for? also buy which one better? new slim one or old one? thanks

I can give you some advice coz i bought mine in state too.

You can get your Wii in any supermart like BestBuy, Walmart, Target or other game shop like gamestop etc. No need to go one by one to compare the price because the price is fix around the country. But please go to their website to check the availability because Wii is too popular in states and always out of stock!!! Wii Sport is included in the Wii console. Some supermart will include accessories such as additional Wii Remote or Wii Fit as bundled, the price may or may not cheaper.
Remember US got GST tax, pls add the tax to your price before you decided to buy it. However, if you buy from Amazon you are free from tax and you can ask them to deliver to your US address.

Actually if you want, you can goto bestbuy.com and sum up all the things you want (add GST) and then compare the price that other ppl offer like Kyo.
Frankly speaking, Kyo's games price is very attractive because the one i got from US is merely about few ringgit cheaper.
If you are the type of "warranty-must" guy, i will recommend of buying locally.

If you are interested, this is what i got from states: Wii Console(with Wii Sport) + Wii Remote +Wii Nunchuck +Wii Fit Plus (bundled with Balance Bd) + Wii Motion Plus + Wii Sport Resort (Bundled with Wii Motion Plus) ~ USD 470 (include GST)

One more thing, if you got your Wii from US, remember to buy a step down transformer!! US is using 110V and M'sia is 240V (a good one at 200W will cost you about RM100)

Yes. Pls take note of custom because they will tax you for that!!!
I just got lucky because they didnt check my luggage.

I think the price you mentioned is just the Wii Console and its standard accessories which is only one set of remote and nunchuck. You have to buy another sets if you plan to play 2 persons.

For the batteries, i will recommend Sanyo Eneloop rechargable. It is quite cheap and you can get it from Amazon too.

Softmod is easy, it just need GUTS tongue.gif here is not the place to discuss about this thing.

After playing several tennis games (Sport, grand slam tennis, virtual tennis, racquet sport), I still feel Wii Sport's Tennis game is the best. Good handling, challenging and fun

Hie guys, I would appreciate it if anyone could answer a few queries i have.

I'm used to buying original stuff, so I'm not that familier with mods or whatever.
But in Penang is kinda hard to get an unmodded wii (the nintendo section in Jusco closed down.)  and I don't really trust the courier services in Malaysia.

I just wanna know, if I buy a modded korean version, I can still play original games and connect online with them? And also access wii channels?
*
I'm from Penang too and what you said is true. 9 out of 10 games shop will sell only modded Korean set. The only available store in Jusco also closed.
It is really pity as i believe a lot of people still looking for unmodded set. You can try some games shop at Queensbay as I bought some original stuff from there (power adapter).

If you buy a modded Korean set, even though you are playing original games, it may also bricked your Wii because some games will automatically update your system menu.
At the end, you still need to use other program like neogamma to disable the system update.

It is still troublesome and risky. Best is to get unmodded, less hassle.

Really depends, at least i plan to buy PS3. But thinking of my family, i decided to buy Wii because the titles are more family types.

But after that, i was wrong. Now, I am the top user in my family. I played RPG like MH3, Fragile Dreams, Mario etc. I played MH3 almost every day smile.gif

Wii is region locked.
That means certain console will allow to play certain games that release in their region. If you are NTSC-U Wii, dont even bother to get a PAL or NTSC-J games because it will not run !!! of course, unless u are modded.....
