What is the different between Wii console which use external hardisk and CD-ROM ? which one is better?
Does anyone know the latest price for wii ? especially in Penang market?
thanks biggrin.gif

ext hard disk via usb can only be used if u softmod ur wii. which one is better? it all depends on how rajin u are to study some workings of modding and evade some updates (not very frequent but u have to watchout if u're online or games that contains hidden update). some ppl here use it for easy transfers of their games (yes some of them does own the legit disc but didn't want the hassle of hauling their games everywhere they go), wiibrew, movies, music, pics during their travel.

u can also just use the sd card slot if u have a big enough storage there. nod.gif but i usually use the sd card for old games of the NES, SNES and GAMEBOY.

with great power comes great responsibility (and caution) nod.gif

MH Tri doesn't draw my interest too...but titles such as RE4 Wii, Zelda, Metroid, No More Heroes are among those that does it for me.

Isn't it connect thru wiimote?.. which basically makes it wireless oredi?..  blink.gif

---
Lol.. the thing its.. the main so called next-gen of wii, its their motion controllers, without it, its just a gamecube.. lol

Cheers wink.gif
*
yes..connect thru wiimote with long wires right by ur side tongue.gif

---
coz for some games, the motion ctrl works (e.g: sports games, wario, NMH, RE4 and zelda)...for some..it's just pure gimicky and tiring after a while sweat.gif (games that require u to constantly points at the screen; fps)

Hie guys, I would appreciate it if anyone could answer a few queries i have.

I'm used to buying original stuff, so I'm not that familier with mods or whatever.
But in Penang is kinda hard to get an unmodded wii (the nintendo section in Jusco closed down.)  and I don't really trust the courier services in Malaysia.

I just wanna know, if I buy a modded korean version, I can still play original games and connect online with them? And also access wii channels?
*
kyo can send ur wii to u if u buy from him...smile.gif

if u're not into those techy stuff and not keen on always being careful each time u're connecting ur wii online, then i wouldn't recommend u on getting a modded wii. If u're adventerous...go ahead icon_rolleyes.gif

if ur mother would just like to exercise..the US wii came bundled with wii sports smile.gif

next mother's day, u can buy her wii motion plus with wii sport resort (add another controller if u want to join in)

next on her birthday buy her wii fit smile.gif

enough exercising fun for the whole family smile.gif

Added on July 20, 2010, 11:39 pmi'd recommend an unmodded set since ur getting for ur mother...i dun believe she knows the modding thingy that well smile.gif

p/s: yes u can accidentally mess up ur modded wii if in future some games hide those updates n cripple ur wii thru the game disc n not even going online.

basically neo gamma is used to play back ups / pirated games so i will not elaborate further.

homebrew channel on the other hand u can make use to ENHANCE ur wii to do other things like:

installing a DVD player, MP3 Player, media streamer (so u can stream vids from ur PC to ur wii) and other application that u want to try on ur wii. But basically, those are the things most ppl want.

As for other apps u can go to wiibrew @ http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Main_Page

p/s: don't ask anymore regarding neogamma.

^ Well not just pirated games, you can also use games from different regions as well as blocking discs based updates which can brick the Wii.

I will merge the thread with the main Wii thread on 7:15pm today. If you find this thread missing, you can find ypur posts moved to the thread below.

it's better if u just find a used US unmodded wii..i saw one in garage sales for only RM750 smile.gif

how to verify? if u can play an ori game without going thru alternative channel...then it's likely to be ori.

Ramz is right.. there is nothing to learn if everything u buy is ori. It is simply insert, plug n play.

if gatal2 nak mod ur console (any) baru kene learn something.

**funny, ppl buy PS3 ori games but looking for pirated one for Wii**
*
i pirate but at the same time i oso buy ori wii games...i treat pirated games as demos. if i can sit thru the whole game without getting bored, i will look for it n buy em. usually if i can't finish even one or two stage...i dun bother getting it.

I think I should create a list of top rated and fun games to play by everyone who have not graced the Wii yet. Although, it might be biased since its my recommendations. We'll see how this goes (As I fill time to wait to play Mass Effect again. laugh.gif)

no matter how u list...it is still not hardcore enough for ppl on the other side.

everything sony n m$ is hardcore even if it's MJ Experience tongue.gif

usually if coz of modded the wii will black out in the beginning of the game when u're loading it...not after.

does it happen to every game?
