3M THERMAL CONDUCTIVE INTERFACE PAD sell by niclasteoh

anyone using it??i have a problem...it doesnt working for me...my cpu temp went up to 80 and overheated=

definitely thermal pad doesnt perform as well as thermal paste icon_idea.gif
u should use good paste such as tx2 / as5 / etc
not thermal pad

3M thermal pad not really suitable for proc... use liquid based instead smile.gif... if u wan industrial paste, try looking for loctite... if u wan consumer products, tuniq tx2/nanofusion/arctic silver/arctic cooling mx2 and so on smile.gif

ya..not recommended to use the pad for proce, normally we use it for northbridge or southbridge or even ICs

dude, its not suppose to be used by your proceessor doh.gif

its a thermal interface pad for sticking ramsinks aka little pieces of metal to your ram, or small chips on electrical components

ps. you have successfully voided your processors warranty, please clean it off before the tape melts further

heat from cpu is way higher than on mobo chipsets/ram

u need to transfer fast fast to the heatsink and most conductive is artic silver and freinds.

U got to be kidding me, i been thru countless of AMD cpu, never have i seen AMD using thermal tape for their cpu..
Thermal paste that looks like thermal tape quite a lot though.. sweat.gif

IMO, for anything that needs to be cooled, if there's proper mouting for the cooler (eg through-bolt or clip), use thermal paste. if there's no mounting for it (eg VR chipset, MOSFET, ram, whatever chips), use thermal pad so that your cooler (normally heatsink) can stick to it.

I am using Hitachi's industry thermal paste for my proc, not sure if it's okay, but been using for few months, idle temperature is around 40C for my proc
