Any advices on Purchasing a Modded Wii?

Hey,
I'm about to pick up a Wii but I was wondering if buying a modded Korean/Japanese version will affect my ability to access the online Wii Store and restrict me from purchasing/download anything from it? Love to find out.
Edited: Anyone with could offer me a few piece of advice based on your knowledge and experience on acquiring a modded Korean/Japanese Wii? Eg: what should i make sure or be aware of?

Yes it would. That's how I see the reports around me. But to be safe, if you really want the shop feature, get yourself an unmodded one just for peace of mind.

That's up to you really, any console any region is possible. But modifying it may cause implications. So, its ur choice.

Another condition. Say if I have a modded version, will I have problem playing online mode even if i have original game?
