Ladies and Gentlemen,
First of all take note: ACC is not over this week, I believe the league itself finishes either next week or the week after, while this week is a "catch-up" week.
In this week of "catch-up" matches (also play your postponed matches!), where we begin wrapping up ACC league season 1, I would like to announce what I've been planning for awhile, and of which I've dropped a few hints to for awhile.
We are called the Asian CoD4 Championships for a reason, there must be an ultimate winner, the strongest team for season 1, that would have to prove itself over a distance, as well in tournament-style format.
Therefore, I hereby announce the ACC Season One Finals, which begin June 1st 2009, to determine the winner of ACC season 1.
The finals format will be as such, the Top 8 of the ACC table (the points table) will be drawn into a single-elimination format. To make the position and points accumulated thus far mean something, and to be fair to all, the points will represent where a team is drawn for the finals e.g. 1st on the board will fight 8th on the board, 2nd on the board will fight 7th on the board and so on.
There will be one match played per week, and ALL other ACC rules, procedure and protocol apply to the ACC finals, of which there will be 3 weeks of single-elimination, and at the 3rd week, the ACC grand finals will be held to determine the ACC season one winner and runner-ups (2nd to 4th).
Please note that the 1st-8th position refer to the final position on the ACC season 1 points table.
Here's a simple explanation of the ACC finals:
Week 1 ACC Quarter-finals
[*]1st vs 8th - Winner Team A
[*]2nd vs 7th - Winner Team B
[*]3rd vs 6th - Winner Team C
[*]4th vs 5th - Winner Team D
Week 2 ACC semi-finals
[*]Team A vs Team D - Winner Team 1 + Runner-up Team 1
[*]Team B vs Team C - Winner Team 2 + Runner-up Team 2
Week 3 ACC Grand finals
[*]Runner-up Team 1 vs Runner-up Team 2 - ACC 3rd placing + ACC 4th placing
and of course, the GRRRAAAAAAAND finals:
[*]Winner Team 1 vs Winner Team 2 will result in the Asian CoD4 Championships Season One Champion emerging.
To clarify, that means 3 weeks of ACC finals, each match shall be played according to the ACC rules, procedure and protocol, i.e. each match shall be arranged during the week, and played according to ACC rules.
The only change is that, as there needs to be a winner every match, if by the 3rd map there is still a draw, it will be a re-knife on the 3rd map, winner picks 4th map, loser picks side. Rinse and repeat if there continues to be a draw until a winner results.
Enjoy, and may the best team win.
<3,
from your overworked ACC Admins.
