got my new TD2 today, RM2599, freebies such as car charger, car holder, cheapo sonic gear speaker, and tambah RM35 for sandisk memory card. first impression overall quite happy except the bloody fingerprint all over the phone

anybody know what games can be played using diamond2, maybe any reconmendation,,

yea garmin works well with my d2, but need to get position locked 1st before being inside car or house

by the way, need to confirm on this ..... usually  charging time how long till it full... have to leave it overnite is it, cause my power still stated that my last full charge are the nite i bought the phonne,

dammm i still havng problem charging my phone in ON condition... the red light will never turn green and the battery bar will not full... have to OFF the phone and ON back than the battery bar will indicate full...hrmmm but the battery lasting are gud enuf for me

can we not use the default ringtone?

ok. firstly. asus using different platform than htc. htc using qualcomm processor n graphic chipset. which this kind of chipset gave htc as well as user as us lots of graphic problem. qvideo from qualcomm hav driver problem since tytn 2 device n currently still cannot b solve.

tat y i always recommend snapdragon platform since snapdragon announced.

anyway, problem can b improve by using 3rd patry driver.

i dont noe benefit of using qualcomm but htc wants to use, we cannot say anything.

hmm, since u said activesync. mean u using windows xp? caz, windows Vista or Windows 7 need to have WMDC (windows mobile device centre) to connect pda and pc.

if u r using activesync and windows xp. then how bout download latest activesync 4.5 and try to reinstall it? possible is no latest activesync installed will cause driver no able to install in it.

have you install the Microsoft ActiveSync? pls Install ActiveSync before you plugin your TD2.

May I ask if there's any error message popping up saying something like driver not found or windows found some usb devices not functioning properly?

try launching ActiveSync 1st, then connect to your TD2 to your PC...

open the activesync app on your phone then plug it in, do you see it spining for a long time before saying failed?
do you have a firewall installed? remember to allow Activesync or WMDC through.

Easiest way to check if you have a firewall issue
Start -> Settings -> All Settings -> Connections -> USB To PC -> Uncheck Enable Faster Data Synchronization.

This disables communication using TCP/IP it's slower but if this works then it means you have a firewall blocking the connection.

I called up sis service center and the told me to bring down to their place for repair but then when i brought back to the shop that i bought they just gave me a new set.. i guess u can get a 1 to 1 exchange if its within 14 days from the day u purchase the product... but i found out that quite some ppl having the same problem as mine in other forums... is the screen so fragile? or izzit because its the 1st batch? at first i could see a small oily round circle at the down part of my screen, after few hours it became worse, it became bigger and it covered almost the whole middle of the screen.. the touch screen works but not that sensitive anymore.. so if any1 having similar scenario, try taking out ur screen protector n check whether it the screen or screen protector..

Are you sure it goes away? Because the oil patch is visible only under certain lights clearly, under normal room light u barely can even see it.. If im not mistaken it's something related digitizer problem, but im not so sure bout it.. Just bring it to sis...

Sorry i am a new user to Window Mobile and a user of TD2.. But i found out that tone of sms can be change. Convert ur music file to WMA format and place it in root in window folder. Hope can help~~ still learning.. Good phone..

erm.. the newton ring issue is actually the digitiser(touch screen) dropping to the lcd screen therefore creating the oily surface effect.. if the newton rings get bigger.. the touch screen is not responsive d.. my case was quite funny.. there is oily surface but then i can spread it out along the whole screen then the screen works again.. just then i touch screen with stylus again, the screen got the oily patch back..

sent back for warranty at SIS.. collecting back on monday and they report is a common issue for TD1 n TD2 even touch pro... generally all touch screen.. but just that HTC's touch screen much more prone to this issue..
maybe cuz htc screen is soo responsive, they gotto sacrifice pressure for responsiveness.. dunno lah.. hopefully my problem solve without spending a cent..

if gotto pay.. i going show them a thread in xda developers showing that is common issue yada yada..

dont buy ap phone for touchscreens la generally.. too risky.. u r touching the screen everytime.. soo its much more vulnerable to damage..

hi, just wan2 check with u guys whether u encounter the following prob:
1. cant sync with comp. apop up msg appears-"ActiveSync cannot connect to WM powere device"
2. sometimes cant detect memory card

hey.. send straight to SIS distribution.. mine is exactly same as urs.. the oily patch looks like come from between the screen n ur screen protector.. in actual fact.. its not.. its the digitiser dropping down to the lcd itself.. faster send it back to SIS distribution when the oily patch is small, if big, dey can say no warranty d because they can blame it to user abuse(that is with overseas htc ppl).. i read alot of htc user overseas suffer from huge amount of payment cause htc blame it to user abuse..

as for my case, i sent bak for warranty, get it bak in 1 week.. i even requested a new phone if i din get back within a week(cuz i jus bought my phone for 3 weeks)
no charges for me as said in SIS distribution(glenmarie) that this phone has tis as a common issue..

they change my touchscreen panel n the whole front bezel.. my bezel got scratched d, but this problem requires them sumhow to change the front bezel, soo i kinda got a new phone is a way.. back to new condition..

my pda doin fine after the repairs.. i changed to a better screen protector.. slightly thicker soo can tahan slightly harder press.. n get a better pouch.. the in the box pouch not tat frenly to me.. alwiz when trying to pick up phone, when sliding phone out from the cover, sure accidentely hit sum buttons den call missed.. swt..

ur oily patch can be removed by like rubbing the entire screen with a cloth entirely den can use again, but tat is a temporary measure..

i like the customer service in pda expert.. i bought there too.. 1st in customer service, not soo good in service as not many of their workers are well known to this newton ring issue.. ironically pda arena states this as a common problem when i tried to buy the phone from them.. i dint believe, went to pda expert.. bought from them instead.. after sent bak for warranty, asked them about it.. they say no such problem/issue..

anyway, since u bought a original phone from SIS with 1+1 warranty, alwiz sent them back to SIS for repairs for the 1st year, den 2nd year oni sent to shop.. haha..

and yes,l i suspect urs is newton ring issue.. it can happen oso when the device is quite hot..

No need to shoot this leh. Actually SiS don't wanna replace the LCD one but because of this issue. SiS is absorbing this lcd issue with their own money. We cannot go complain this to SiS.

Well,if you from KL,you no need drive down all the way to Shah Alam Glenmarie there,just go their KL service centre at Plaza BerJaya. ~ Ohh ok

when i click on the notification tab, i can see the internet time is running....does that mean the phone is downloading something and maxis is charging me?..i only notice it after 2 hours.

the front bezel.. omg.. its very expensive... im not sure but i think either u get it via ebay or send to SIS edi

the black colour wan is the black plastic cover rite.. tat wan can dent meh?? will break or crack la.. wont dent wan.. the front bezel is the "metal/stainless steel" part of ur phone.. the front part of it..

thats the back cover. should cost around 75 original from SIS
