hi everyone.. my friend going to buy Touch Diamond 2 soon.. but actually not very sure.. tried my xperia and love to TF3D interface...

anyway, i come in here mostly because i really love to provide any help to new windows mobile user and of cause see any bug would be reported from touch diamond 2...

anyway, i recommend malfreemaps here.. malfreemaps is updated weekly.. yes weekly. i love malfreemaps because of frequently update and it is FREE! yeah.. nice..

using garmin mobile XT 5.0.0.30wp. minor update for taiwan garmin device from 5.0.0.20wp. anyway, i will provide as many infor as i know for windows mobile in general and confirmed wont spam while respect this thread.

yeah.. but 5.0.0.30wp is only for taiwan update.. i doesnt see much improvement thou..

anyway, how come so frequent hung 1... really sweat.

eh, i tot TF3D 2 is already enable screen rotation in anyway program already? my xperia dont have g-sensor. im using keyboard slide open.. no problem for screen rotation thou..

oh yeah.. 3rd party rom always have .net 3.5 install. so normally i dont have problem with tat.. anyway, u can follow da link tat bro evilpuppy posted. then install it via activesync.

anyway, contact is always managed my micrsoft office outlook. all my windows mobile contact is stored and sync all the time with outlook. u can use myphoneexplorer to extract out all the previous contact from SE/Nokia/ other phone via bluetooth. then extract da whole phonebook and import into outlook. then sync contact with outlook and Diamond2 via activesync or so called Windows Mobile Device Centre in Vista.

im using TF3D 2 for my xperia too.. for me to turn off 3G and keep constantly in EDGE/GPRS.. i go to settings tab in TF3D, then click communication. then there is 8 options and i choose off for 3G.

in my communication manager got these:
airplane mode
phone
bluetooth
wifi
microsoft direct push
data connection
3G
internet sharing

i think it would be the same in diamond 2 too..

go to phone dialer mode (either using "pick up" phone hardware button or press "phone in TF3D home screen"
then click "menu" n "options".

oh is it.. i tot TF3D 2 already using 8 fucntion comm manager dy.. caz default is 6 in TF3D .. i really tot TF3D 2 upgraded too...

yeah.. malfreemaps is free ar..

as far as i know.. the new rom only contain new RAdio but with da exactly same rom. so u wont see anything different except mayb better phone reception or something related to radio.

besides, flashing rom will always clear all ur data.. so do remember to backup next time b4 u flash or upgrade rom..

application installed cannot be backup.. must be install everytime u flash ur rom..

u can keep all the .cab files inside ur microsd and use express setup from xda-developers.. tick all the cab files. then express setup will one shot install all the .cab file for u.

besides, u can backup the whole program files but it doesnt work. different rom nid different configuration that y even if u backup application, it wont work on another rom.

it only work when u r currently at "HOME" tab.. if u are on other tab, then it will move bak to previous tab left or right.

but it do nice when nid to move to "settings" tab right from "home" tab..

it works on TF3D 2 thou.. bro baronic, are u using TF3D 1 or 2? mine 1 is TF3D 2 and it works...

hmm yeah.. windowsmobile is a fully customizable platform..

use resco file explorer or totalcommander.. browse to /windows/start menu/programs/

then find for coreplayer.ink or coreplayer if extension diden show. then press n hold da icon, click properties.

there is 2 tab, click to "shortcut" tab and click da "..." then point to correct coreplayer.exe file.

coreplayer.exe should b in /program files/coreplayer/coreplayer.exe

give it a try then see how.. u should now able to launch coreplayer from all programs.

besides, to use coreplayer as default player. u nid to run coreplayer and inside options ther use da "file association" and tick those format u wan to use coreplayer as default player.

HTC know this issue and it going to fix really soon too. Iphone 3G oso got such problem. so wat? still a lot of ppl bought wad.

if u still doesnt like it.. then go for touch HD lor.. rich guy got budget mar..

haha... yeah. since u disable tf3d but enable default wm today application it will show grey background if no wallpaper assign.

u can tick some other thing other than tf3d. then u will see sone default wm plugin.

go bak to wher u untick tf3d. then tick other stuff

n yeah, some research statistic. do u all notice that most pda is always using default ringtone and default sms ringtone? i really notice that really a lot of pda user using default 1. so to spot pda really really easy especially pda standard default ringtone only 3 if HTC ringtone is not installed by default.

anyway, to input chinese, CE-star is da best for me. n i forget HTC included it for u all...lols.. i nid to use *ahem version..

after some testing on my xperia and what i know is wallpaper could be any picture. but it will juz stay stationery and movement of gif is stopped.

u could possibly put it as wallpaper in TF3D or wm today screen which this 2 is different settings. WM today wallpaper will replace the "grey" wallpaper u mean when u disable TF3D.

while TF3D wallpaper will only show on TF3D "home" tab only.

to set it: follow this:
TF3D wallaper
scroll to settings tab
tap on wallpaper then browse to ur folder by tap on "right soft key" named "ALBUM"
then click on ur photo.

it should now show on HOME tab of TF3D

WM today (take note that this will only show if u disable TF3D
1) scroll to settings tab if u have TF3D enable. and All Settings
if not enable, then click start -> settings
2) then go to personal tab n "today"
3) tick "use this picture as background" then click browse to select or photo.

alternatively : (for wm today only)
click all program
then find for "pictures & Videos"... not Album.
use it to browse to ur photo. then tap & hold until right context menu comes out.
then tap "set as today background"

so, in anyway also u will only get stationary .gif files but not da nice nice u can see in desktop. u can see it moving while using HTC Album or Picture & video only. but not as wallpaper..

since wm is quite customizable os, let see anyone could make it moving..haha

like mapking, cash organizer, battery status (changed name i think), spb backup, spb insight ..

quite a name of software that allow plugin to be installed on wm today screen. juz too bad that HTC 's TF3D already take up all available space for normal today plugin.

but as i said, since wm is quite customizable platform. member from xda-developers able to hack TF3D "people" tab and changed it to display normal wm today plugin.

after some testing, i found it is not stable at all so i doesnt recommend to u all.

hope u all enjoy a nice OS around for phone.

since hard reset is still reset to same rom. u hav backup program fles n windows folder too.

after hard reset, restore it n u will hav all ur application n settings intact.
