one question from a winmo/htc newbie....is flipping the phone to landscape kind of slow? i've use a friend's iphone before and when you flip the phone sideways, the display switch to landscape pretty fast (less than a second) but on the TD2, there seems to be a lag of a couple of secs. sometimes flipping back to potrait mode takes even longer. is this normal?

this is because WM doesn't have native rotation support so there's basically a program in the background that's polling the sensor to see if orientation has changed and then flip the screen

thanks for the info guys!

i found a program called gyrator 2 that can set the polling duration. it does help somewhat with speeding up the flipping

if the program come in .exe installation file then you run the program in windows and make sure activesync is running.

if you download the .cab version, then copy it to your SD card, use file explorer and click on the file.

I'll be careful with the above hotfix. Firstly in my test, it didn't work. Similar results were reported in XDA forums as well.

Secondly, I downloaded this from HTC's own site a few days ago (again following the link from XDA). But a day later, it was pulled from the HTC site, no explanations given. (this is also documented by other XDA forummers)

I can only speculate that HTC withdrew the hotfix because it did not really solve the issue.
