@vez
yeah, it's an issue with this rom. there's a few programs to replace that, but i'm not sure what exactly are the names of the program..

btw, just wondering, for those who upgraded to the new rom, does the photos and music switch to lanscape view when you hold the phone sideways? the custom roms have it, i wonder if the official one is the same.

alright, thanks a lot. i'll flash it again during the weekdays i guess. kinda lazy now laugh.gif
but wouldn't it consume more battery with all the programs running? with them left running in the background coz the task manager isn't there.
does the rotation thing affect any performance or something?

just read about the fix yesterday at wmpoweruser smile.gif

even with heavy usage mine can last for more than a day. make sure you turn off unnecesarry stuff if you dont use it, like data connection, wifi etc. can sort of save a bit of battery life.

steven789 posted the link for the pagepool changer some pages back. have to modify the rom first, before flashing it again to the phone.

vez, i guess you gotta revert back to the default windows messaging system. there's a fix posted few pages back. my contacts were automatically linked already, coz i have already done that on the previous rom.

just installed cookie tab to enhance the home screen..more shortcuts can be added and the calendar appointments can be viewed. best thing is it also has a button to turn off weather animation. great for those who dont want the weather thing smile.gif

QUOTE(xchris @ Apr 6 2010, 08:42 AM)
Already made up my mind to get the nokia 5800 but just before I reached the stall i saw the HTC TD2...then kena pukau & bought it...
Anyway, the battery life for 1st 2 days sux then got tips to save the battery. So far I off HSPDA & fix to GSM and battery last extra 2-3 hours. Any more tips to prolong the batt or alternative batt to recommend? My ROM version is 2.17.
*
haha..the TD2 is just too hard to resist eh tongue.gif
one more tip to save batt is to lock your screen whenever you put your phone in standby, as one of our members here mentioned. if not mistaken in the garage sales there are people selling alternative batteries with longer battery life, i think the name's momax. not sure how much though wink.gif
if it's cheap i might think of getting it too.

QUOTE(03188lee @ Apr 6 2010, 09:12 AM)
Juz got my TD2^^ But the battery life is short..less than 1 day..
any suggestion?
btw, can somebody summarize de best ROM n Manila to use?
*
you can see in the post above, turn off HSDPA and stick to GSM only if you don't use 3G. 2.17 ROM is pretty ok to use, but less eye candy. quite smooth and no lagging problems. the new 2.30 ROM is ok too, nicer to look at, but needs some modifications to make it problem free. otherwise you can try other 3rd party ROMs on xda-developers smile.gif

QUOTE(vez @ Apr 6 2010, 10:36 AM)
nope, but i did not revert back to old windows mobile sms messaging system, i using the latest sense 2.5 one, which is laggy as i posted days ago sad.gif
*
one alternative is not too keep many smses, hopefully that helps.

how about this?
http://www.momax.net/en/Product_Show.aspx?ID=461&T=1

it says high capacity, but still 1100mAh. so it's just an alternative battery?

btw, nice wallpaper tongue.gif

guys, i just noticed that my tdII battery life has been quite good this few days biggrin.gif
with weather animation turned off and using the lock screen before standby it can last for more than 2 days. after 2 days of use still have about 30-40%. everyday maybe 1-2 calls, around 10 smses. but when i start using it, the battery drops quite fast.

is it still under warranty by SIS?
if still so problematic, is it possible if you ask for a replacement set? better than keep on repairing..

how do i automatically lock the phone when it goes to sleep??
*
use the latest version of cookie tab, the one that i posted before this. it has options to customize your lockscreen, and also to set it to lock automatically when the phone sleeps smile.gif

QUOTE(jcyl2 @ Apr 15 2010, 02:13 PM)
and also, im using the latest rom..
why does my homescreen the whether is "my location", how can i change it??
*
you can try updating the weather, then it detects your location, and your location should appear at the homescreen then.

QUOTE(jcyl2 @ Apr 15 2010, 09:19 PM)
so means i need to reflash?? dush.. i think its due to the whether.. even without animation, its still slightly slow compared to other tabs.. maybe i dun update whether den it will be better..
i miss the task manager alot.. now i have no idea what task is running and my ram slowly slowly creeping away..
btw.. i recall one post which state the sms can revert to like the old wan?? where can i get it.. and how does it looks?? exactly like manila 1.xx?? or the original windows threaded sms??
*
mine seems fine, only some slight lag at the homescreen once in a while. most of the time it runs just fine.
you can search for Dutty's task manager, install that and it'll give you the task manager back at the top right corner smile.gif
you'll need to download a patch, so it reverts back to the original windows threaded sms.

QUOTE(gerrardling @ Apr 16 2010, 08:21 AM)
anyone tried cookie home tab on td2 already ? how was the performance in term of battery usage
*
yeah i'm using it, but not the latest version. so far so good, battery usage seems quite normal to me.
