Anyway, the battery life for 1st 2 days sux then got tips to save the battery. So far I off HSPDA & fix to GSM and battery last extra 2-3 hours. Any more tips to prolong the batt or alternative batt to recommend? My ROM version is 2.17.

haha..the TD2 is just too hard to resist eh tongue.gif
one more tip to save batt is to lock your screen whenever you put your phone in standby, as one of our members here mentioned. if not mistaken in the garage sales there are people selling alternative batteries with longer battery life, i think the name's momax. not sure how much though wink.gif
if it's cheap i might think of getting it too.

you can see in the post above, turn off HSDPA and stick to GSM only if you don't use 3G. 2.17 ROM is pretty ok to use, but less eye candy. quite smooth and no lagging problems. the new 2.30 ROM is ok too, nicer to look at, but needs some modifications to make it problem free. otherwise you can try other 3rd party ROMs on xda-developers smile.gif

From my observation the htc task manager drains the battery slightly faster. But it's convenient so i keep it.
Other tips to save battery:

1. Recalibrate the battery (a lot of users at xda-developers recommend it)
- Discharge the device completely.
- Take out battery for 40-60 sec.
- Put back in the battery. Don't switch on the device!
- Charge the device by normal way (not by usb!) to full state (green LED).
- Take out the battery again for 40-60 sec.
- Put back in the battery.
- Switch on the device.

2. Remove any home screen taps that you don't use.

3. Turn off any wireless function if you don't use them. I even turn off the infrared beam.

4. Adjust the backlight lower.

5. Make sure to lock the device before turning off. I think the device will only suspend properly if you do so.

6. Turn off keyboard vibration and home screen tap vibrations. Turn off home screen weather animation. I even turn off the unnecessary (and annoying) 1:02 clock flip.

7. If really want maximum battery life, turn off htc sense completely and use the windows default! (Go to the Today setting).

For custom batteries, you might want to look at these:
http://cgi.ebay.com.my/1700mah-Spare-Batte...=item35a7c059b0
http://worcell.com/product_info.php?products_id=75121
But don't ask me good or not because i haven't try them. But some users at xda-developers recommend them.

Anyone like the original HTC Legend or Mini's default wallpaper? Here it is: http://js-kit.com/blob/E3_DMALR1ROQMhXs0uWu0H.jpg

how about this?
http://www.momax.net/en/Product_Show.aspx?ID=461&T=1

it says high capacity, but still 1100mAh. so it's just an alternative battery?

btw, nice wallpaper tongue.gif

Less RAMs used = longer battery life.
I'm using Today screen currently.

Just Pocket Digital Clock + Metrix2 + GPS2day (for fun) on a custom ROM with no HTC Sense. I think my battery life is 50% longer with around 120mb of free program memory. Clear the RAM from time to time with CleanRAM program. Close any apps that's not being use and like what other users said, go to lock screen.

But Today is of course uglier than HTC Sense lah.

Refer few pages back got apps from xda-developers.

Anyways, you can have an alternative like me to add the task manager to the quick links below the time and date section. icon_rolleyes.gif

dlwl , Steven , Thks for the extra tips. I heard the momax battery cost around Rm95~99 (BJ complex mobile hut) . Seller claims extra 20% juice. Thinking of getting one.

This problem is call SOD, Sleep of Death, and is quite a common issue for those whom flash regularly. You need to perform Task29 first before flashing. Auto Hard Reset is another symptom of regular flashing.
