Anyone know where can apply the china unionpay card in Malaysia?

I believe only available in China but maybe you can try your luck at Bank of China??

The nearest place for Malaysian to apply for a UnionPay card is Singapore at UOB Bank.

Btw why do u want to apply for unionpay? isnt visa or mastercard better? Only UOB in sg can approve it?UOB in malaysia cannt approve?

UOB Malaysia doens't offer Unionpay. UOB Singapore is the only bank in Southeast Asia to offer a Unionpay credit card. Unionpay is China's version of VISA/Mastercard with greater acceptance in China, i believe.

The reason I'm looking for this card is because I want to buy item in china website as Internation Visa has been disconnected. Now they only open for Visa that open in Hong Kong and some China local bank .

Actually in Malaysia China unionpay got contact in jalan Jelatek but they going to move to KLCC this few months. This office just to help local bank to solve transaction/card issue. They said in Malaysia may be next one or two year will has this card.

last time when i was in china i can open bank acount just using tourist visa, its IC.B.C bank.
but in order for me to activate my internet banking i nd to present sm staying/permanent visa.
so im not sure how useful is that for u to open unionpay if u cant get the internet banking?
other option im not so sure leh..

Google ICBC Malaysia. They are in Menara Maxis and is a issuer of UnionPay credit cards in Malaysia. Pax.
