QUOTE(lowlowc @ Aug 21 2011, 05:32 PM) Only know - went to Dformat twice. First time, they want to close early on that day. Second time got discuss with them and they couldn't quote me on the spot. Agreed to email me the quotation, but already 8 days passed. lowlowc, i went to dformat showroom before oso. My friend did his cabinet and one breakfast top with dformat, he said installation was smooth and so far everything OK so i paid them a visit.ya..same thing lor, nobody to quote me, but there was an indian gal took down my details and measurement, and i think about 6-7 days later i receive a quotation via e-mail. The person also called me to inform me sent the quotation. But the quotation was way pricey Anyway, I signed up kitchen cabinets with them dy..just only at perfect living. I'm crossing my fingers! Hope everything turns up perfectly and smoothly just like my friend. But he didn't sign up during fair.. so.. |

was wondering, when we say "modern kitchen cabinet', melamine cabinets consider part of modern kitchen cabinet?
was thinking of mix and match melamine with 3G doors.. |

QUOTE(weikee @ Dec 13 2011, 12:15 PM) Is about design, not material. I saw solid cabinet (i mean solid not melamine or plywood) and design really nice and simple. Price hehe, 60k over for kitchen and wardrobe. till now i haven't decided on the cabinets which i signed months ago. initially went for those light yellow colour melamine cabinets with black glass..kinda like ikea style..now re-thinking whether it'll look nice o not.. |

Lowlowc, ended up u didn't use Ikea's arr...
I used dformat, so far only install halfway. Some hiccups like, no shelves!! Haha. And one door seems too short. But luckily the sales person that serviced me seems responsible so let's see whether he is able to sort it out for me.. Added on January 4, 2012, 12:15 pmI dunno whether ikeas cabinets are good o not..but I'm installing everything from them except my kitchen cabinets and let's see how it turns out. I only know the price is more expensive, but I'm lazy to wait for installer to come numerous times to install different things in the house and then they will say might not make it coz cny coming etc etc. then hv to worry if service no good or door not aligned. So within 3 days ikea coming! This post has been edited by @Adele: Jan 4 2012, 12:15 PM |

Ike's installing my wardrobe and stuff. And the wardrobe and billy bookcase got scratched!! I asked the installers how..they say...we bincang later after install. What does that mean?
Should I let them continue?? I don't want scratches after paying so much for the cabinetsssss This post has been edited by @Adele: Jan 6 2012, 02:48 PM |

Darn it...!!
The rest of the installers were careful, the things didn't get scratched. Only one, who installed two of the items...the items are scratched. Pretty sure it's his fault and not Ikeas... I think I might reject the billy bookcase since its quite easy to install on own self.. The wardrobe is half way done |

lowlowc and weikee, thanks for the advise.
anyway i insisted to change, and the installer keep saying cannot change. then on the spot i called ikea, they say can and will send somebody with the spoilt pieces again. So for ppl who wanna install..please insist if don't want. my MALM drawer and part of the wardrobe already installed, and i didnt ask ikea to change, coz the wardrobe already drill to the wall..not sure how to change.. anyway..hv a look at my wardrobe...i kind of love it |

QUOTE(Jo_da48 @ Jan 7 2012, 12:21 AM) speechless when I saw a big gap (1inch) gap between tabletop and the wood at one of the side... Jo da 48, my kitchen cabinet also like that. Got a gap between my cabinets and very very big gap at the drawer area. And unevenness all over the table top. They used the white sealer or something put a lot a lot cover it. Actually it looks ok to me far away la..according to the KC folk it was due to the table top level is out, hence causing the gaps...but he will try to figure a way to cover it either through sealer or ... I was just happy that the doors are aligned..hehe |

Just to update on my kitchen cabinets.
So far, my Dformat cabinets has been having numerous problems. First installation was without doors..and my melamine wood design was wrong as well. And also, one door size was too small.Second installation for the doors was supposed to be 2 days later..and drag to be almost 10 days later. Installer confirmed time arrive at 10.30am..but only arrived at 2pm plus and didn't even bother to inform to me. I waited so long for them..and they forgot stuff like soft close...etc. Then they had to come again on weekend to do the little stuff..and i had to wait for them again. and they were late again also. And now ..the glass cabinets dunno why start to have some ugly peeling inside.. which i've highlight, but yet to hv answer to The only positive side to this is the sales person is actually pretty responsible, and he tried to help me out as much as possible to address the problems. But still..i find it a hassle to coordinate so many times since dec..and until now still have not finished installing my kitchen cabinets. Also the sifu is quite good and flexible. He tries his best to align the doors and stuff, and i didn't hv to worry about that. But still...headache, and that's why i haven't been able to share pics of the cabinets.. |
