Of course! Only sedimentary rocks have porosity.
*
Ya, as I know, granite is the hardest rock in the world after diamond. I think after polished the granite, you can't see any porous on the surface. But anyway, is good if you go to any showroom and have a look on the granite espcially black granite.

Added on April 26, 2010, 2:09 pmWhen you plan to buy a sink, go for the thickness at least 0.8mm and above. If you are using granite or solid surface, it is better to choose undermount sink. The phot below is topmount sink so the sink will put on the granite.

QUOTE(Geil @ Apr 26 2010, 03:41 PM)
what good is 3G door ? glass?
i cant decide between ICA laminate or those glossy door. Any difference in terms of durability? or just strictly looks preference?
my kitchen floor is matt white with some rain-kind grains and i plan for white tile countertop so if i use white cabinet doors agian... errrr will it look ok? afraid too many different kind of white will make it look so messed-up?? anyone done this kind of colour scheme before?
*
3G glass door
There is 1 piece of glass in front, and colour sticker in middle, then melamine board at behind. It can't be scratch easily and can clean easily. But it is heavy then other materials, and it can't put on any handle but only built-in handle.

Membrane Press Door
It can has the glossy effect on the surface. It is MDF board but cover up with a colour layer on it. you can put on any handle to decorate your doors and it do not need any aluminum frame on ther doors. anyway, you have to take good care of this MDF board if there is any scratch on the surface, the board will give way very soon..

hope cabinet expert can answer my question. I've asked my contractor to raise the tiles at kitchen cabinet area a little bit (2 inch). just now when I returned home, looks like he does not raise the floor at this cabinet area in fact he already installed tiles. my question how normally we raise floor in this area? either we raise the floor then install tiles OR install tiles, raise the floor from tiles and put another tiles on top? Just want to get prepare before asking him tomorrow as he always try to divert to another issue
*
He still can raise the step for cabinet later on, no worry~ smile.gif

I notice that most of the hood installed very high from the hob. Won't that affect the suction? What is the standard distance?
*
The distance between hood and table is around 27 inch to 30 inch. But any way, if you are tall and you place the hood at 27 inch, then the hood will just right in front your eyes and you might hit the hood when you cook. brows.gif

Let's share another project, and we can see from the photo of the kitchen BEFORE install the cabinet.
user posted image

So when you are start to design for the cabinet, 1st of all we will decide the place for stove, sink and also fridge.
I believe most of the people here do heard about the triangle in kitchen and i think i was discussed here before.

Normally we will advise to put the sink somewhere near the window so the wind and sun light wil alwaysl help you to keep that area dry.
But for stove, we will put it few feet away from window since the wind out there might effect or put out the fire, that's is quite dangerous.

Finally come to fridge, the biggest object in kitchen, always put at corner or the end of the triangle, big object might block your vision and you will feel your kitchen become smaller.

And here come the AFTER~
