Ya, pfr means calculate by 1 ft run.
For example, if the cabinet 5 ft length and it cost rm100 pfr, ----> rm100 x 5 = rm500

In the other hand, if calculate in psf, it means 1ft x 1ft = 1 fts.
For example, if the cabinet 5 ft length and 2 ft width and it cost rm40 psf, --------->rm 40 x (5x2) = rm400

not less than 6k, expect to pay more for the full leather bedhead. i would estimate the cost is between 8-10k for the leather specification. smile.gif of course both estimation is include the bed platform, bed head, drawers and console table.

hi all,

Conventional wood-based cabinet vs the modern-style aluminium cabinet :

1. Wat are the PROs & CONs ?

2.  How's market price differences between both types?

3.  Any other special considerations when deciding whether or not to install either type of cabinet ?
*
Answers

1. aluminum last for lifetime, termite free, not easy to catch fire. cons - pricey.

2. expect to paid 40-50% more compare to board based product. (board=melamine board, plywood is another type) pricing wise board<plywood<veneer<aluminum<solid wood.

3. yes, firstly depend to the area if the area was highly infested with termite! sure u won't take the risk to install wood based cabinet. secondly based on ur budget, no need to explain further.

hope can enlighten u smile.gif

You know I was thinking, it would it be a lot cheaper to just put wallpaper with a wood border.

as what i have said before u have to let them know what material u need for the kitchen cabinet before proceed to the quote. like melamine board<plywood<veneer<aluminum<solid wood. all got different price so if stated what material then no argument after the job was done. icon_rolleyes.gif

any 1 know what is the market price for 3G ...? RMxx/sqft?
How many type of material for 3G?

I m so confuse with 3G thing.

This is the answer from Erny team:
3G Doors is actually melamine door also but it comes with an additional layer of 3G Glass infront of the melamine board.

But some member say:
real 3g door adalah solid colour...
manakala 3g door palsu ialah menggunakan melamine door dan hanya tambah sekeping kaca di pintu depan shj.
klu guna pintu jenis ini harganya adalah murah 50% daripada 3g door solid colour.

they both are right on half only, actually meaning of 3G is the door come with a pcs of glass on surface cum with aluminium side triming (some have build in aluminium handle, some dont have). this is call 3G.

so some using malemine as back, some using spray paint on glass, some using arcylic, all of them also call 3G, just only diff in pricing.

Ya, in Malaysia most of the cabinets are done by melamine or plywood.
Whatever door your are using, the cabinet still melamine or plywood.

Plywood or Melamine actully depend on how you use it, I went to a lot of houses, and some plywood cabinet at least 10 years old, still look good. Some I think less than 3 years, the owner already ask me change the cabinet for him. Even you are using solid wood as the door, inside still plywood..

Melamine board got many grades, some claims that chipboard can't stand for humidity, that actually called MDF but not melamine. Why most of the Branded showroom choose to use Mieco eventhough it is more expensive, because it provide moisture resistance and solve the main problem of chipboard. (you can try to put a Mieco Melamine into a water for whole day, the surface will not rise up or Kembang as MDF board.

If you want to make your cabinet have longer lifetime, just make sure that the piping are not leaking. Daily work like washing on table top or using a wet clothes to mop it, dun worry, it won't damage the surface. smile.gif

3G glass door
Melamine board + colour sticker or spray paint on the glass, frame with aluminum.

The one you mention fake 3G means they just put glass in front of melamine (with wood colour) without and sticker or spray paint, this save a lot of cost and workmanship too. What you will see is a glass put in front wood colour board.

let's me explain mine version. (no harm to listen another party)

my understanding for 3G glass is very obvious as the name itself told ! it's a glass. So melamine board at the back, glass at the front can call 3G also as long as it's glass and with some colour (this is outdated already). but personal advice do not go for the with board at the back, glass with aluminum frame only it's fine. why? of course it will have pros and cons.... here i only concentrate on the cons, with board it's a lot heavier and u have to service=tighten the hinges doors very often. heavier means more dangerous as it might misposition the doors..... think about it what is the circumstances. i'll stop here. icon_rolleyes.gif

for first red highlight:
it's not only have melamine and plywood in the Malaysia market. in fact we can have stainless steel and aluminum cabinet with glass aluminum frame for the doors, the results will be as the normal cabinets but in fact it's water proof and termite free no worry for life except u wanna to move to another house coz it's lifetime quaranteed. but of course the price is quite high also.

for second red highlight:
melamine board = chip board got how many grade? as i know only got 2 grades. MDF is another type cannot mixed up with melamine board accoding what the sifu said.

for third blue highlight:
is only for normal moisture....... not highly moisture else also same as the MDF will become warp. also according to my sifu said.

for the fourth red highlight:
mine sifu ask, are u sure melamine board can soaked in the water overnight won't warp? ok, to be fair if compare with MDF its lesser warping but in the end melamine also cannot runaway from this warp issues.
