back to 1995 my father bought new honda..after few month breakdown already...has to import something from japan lol. So my farther sell it & buy proton wira (my own now-still strong)..now my father bought to kia & one toyota...the conclusion is
whether u toyota, honda, proton, or kia all can give u problem maa..i still can't get it why when toyota or honda give prob people can said "oh it small prob"..when p1/p2 or our national car marker car has problem, u will hear lot of **** swear at them....hehe...sorry off topic lol!!

Simple, double standard.

Ppl have higher hope when they pay less and want to get a lot a lot more from the local cars laugh.gif . Tell u, if Proton ever produce a car tht have a 2400cc engine, with their own design and all, ppl will expect Proton to sell it below 100k laugh.gif

back to topic, I'm also thinking of advising my parent to get the Kia Forte, bt due to the windscreen crack thingy, i guess I need to either opt for another option or wait for the other batch tht already fix this problem to come.

Btw, shame tht Naza wont bring the 2.0 version here, it can easily fight wif Civic intern on looks.

how factual is this?

fix for you and every1 to watch here biggrin.gif

btw, I consider it as true, bt mayb nt 100% accurate, cause it an advertisement, so you know lo tongue.gif

Really considering this car, shame they not bringing in the 2.0l version of the Forte, cause I think due to power to weight ration, I think the 2.0 engine would have a better FC, specially if driving at high speed, and it would be easier to overtake cars too. nod.gif

My my..what do we have here?

Wait, did i read correctly? It say 5 speed tip tronic gear box plus we can buy another 4 air bag? All for the 1.6l model? If this is true, in someway, our spec sound a lot better than what Singapore is getting drool.gif

What to do, close 1 eye, open 1 eye. Even Proton car are effected by this, other than Saga and Savvy, Gen 2, Waja, Persona and Exora running on 1.6 engine, so if the article is true, it seem Goverment is not protecting Proton anymore, but they are helping Perodua in their sales, cause all Perodua car are below 1.5L.

no...... i had confirm with HQ and have a view on thier officially product description of this forte (only 1 book for every branch for their sales person knowledge) it is confirm the engine will be Theta II 2.0.
*
He is not wrong actually, the reason is because

GEMA 2.0 (original develop name) = Theta II 2.0 (Kia/Hyundai name for the engine) = 4B11 (mitsubishi version)

All in all, basicly the same engine except maybe some different tuning by the different manufacture.

Yup..you got that right!

Here's the reply from Kia Malaysia:
The Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance LLC, or GEMA, is a manufacturing arm of Global Engine Alliance LLC, which was a joint venture of Chrysler, Mitsubishi Motors, and Hyundai Motor Company for developing a line of shared engines. The Theta II was part of this but the engines you find in the Forte are built in South Korea.

Ya, cause they got few plant in the US, South Korea and Japan.

Due to this, this make this car an even sweeter package to buy. rclxms.gif
