Already seen 1.6 EX and SX at jalan kapar, klang branch. overall SX is the model to get. everything inside has an upmarket feel to it compared to basic EX. and EX steel rim is a real turn off . tested the start stop button and it's really a cool system to have. also the control alarm is very nice and have a nice weighty feel to it. also it runs on rechargeable battery and can be recharged in the car itself. the boot space is massive even bigger than city. seat material is very nice too. no complaints there. i like the leather steering wheel and also there's leather on the internal door handles. and yes it's quite spacious though still lose to latio and civic. for rm81,800 it's a bargain. also manager said there's 500 CBU units but all 1.6. 2.0 only next year. QUOTE(kevin23 @ Nov 23 2009, 06:24 PM) When I first saw the car and the interior,I was really impressed. It has been a long time since a Korean car impressed me that much and this Forte has done it. looks good and interior is nice and solid. Have to test drive the car first before can make any comments but really has to be the "buy of the Year" 2.0 for ONLY RM 93k???!! Damn,i bought my CITY at at RM 89k.Makes CITY look so so so expensive...hahaha.. But to be frank,I wouldnt book the car now first.Dont want to be guinea pig.Let ppl buy first and see real owners comments before thinking about it. Cause it is seriously a nice car,but in terms of reliability and servicing, hmmm, not too convinced. Thats why let ppl buy the car first.. Anyhow,I think this car will do well in the M'sian market due to its damn good looks!! actually don't need be guinea pig lah. our bros in singapore already become guinea pig mah http://www.ceratoforte.sg/general-discussi...wners-f2-50.htm

1 question : any of u guys plan to downgrade yr 17" tyres to 16" or 15"?
cos definately 17" won't give much comfort in town. also autoworld did mentioned there's quite a big difference in acceleration on the 15" EX compared to 17" SX.
Quote"The 1.6 EX
The difference was felt immediately, no doubt the thicker sidewalls filtering out substantially more of the road imperfections. It was quickly obvious that the 1.6 EX is a far more comfy ride compared to the 1.6 SX. In fact, comfort improved by far greater margins than handling was compromised.
On the highway, we noticed that wind noise was kept at a minimum, but tyre noise was roaring in the cabin. This suggests that the Forte's aerodynamics are spot on, though Naza-Kia definitely saved some money with the tyre wall insulation. Engine note was pleasantly sporty, only sounding strained at a hair's breadth away from the red line.
But, believe me, you do not need to wring the bejesus out of this car to get it going. My turn driving the 1.6 EX came after the Tapah rest stop, from which I drove all the way to Sg Buloh. Throughout the journey, there was hardly any need to apply any pressure on the throttle. In fact, the difficulty was to keep myself from applying too much pressure.
Although the Forte does not accelerate with sledgehammer force, it is surprisingly rapid. Even if you maintain feather-weight pressure on the throttle, the speedometer inches clockwise, whether you like it or not. It seemed to avoid the double-digit zone like a plague. Bringing it to 160 was a far easier exercise than bringing down to 120.
There is some difficulty in regaining lost speed when drastic slow downs are needed, but don't worry, normal service resumes in no time. The engine seemed most comfortable spinning at 4,000rpm - with the speedo indicating 160kph. Yes, it was very stable. No scuttle, no nothing. Some noise, yes, but at very acceptable levels.
Heading Home - Back on the 1.6 SX
As sunset approached, the eight cars arrived one after another at the Sungai Buloh R&R stop. That is our designated dispersion point, from which we are re-organized into the eight Fortes to be driven home. We were given the chance to drive again, with a Naza-Kia staff accompanying us to take the car back to HQ.
I found myself back in another unit of the 1.6 SX, behind the wheel again. Back on the highway, I was quick to shift to the fast lane, and buried my foot into the throttle, and.... nothing. The responsiveness I felt in the 1.6 EX earlier is gone. This car is noticeably heavier and more sluggish.
Where the 1.6 EX absolutely flew with only minimal throttle application, this one needed some shoving. Not that it lacks go, but more effort is noticeably needed. There is no doubt that the additional two inches to the wheel diameter contributed to this."

test drove 1.6SX just now...overall very stable and quiet...except when u put the paddle to the floor roar! the engine sound very nice also. manage to revv until 6000rpm. there was a slight lag in the beginning but after the lag, the rpm straight shoot to 6000rpm and the acceleration was good. sound system very good as it is...manage to test with usb filled with my fav mp3s.

hehe, just test drive forte again today and also honda city. total already test drive forte 3 times. haha...but still haven't book. anyways 1st for the 1.6 EX. the interior feels very cheap and plastic. no red illumination on the meters, much like any normal cars. the seat material was also inferior compared to SX. ride was more comfortable than 1.6SX cos of 15" tyres. pickup was also better. even can hear some sound coming from door panel when going over some potholes. when test drove in 1.6SX, the interior really makes u feel like u're driving an expensive car. even honda city lose in this department. no sound coming from door panel compared to EX. overall 1.6SX is really the model to go for....
