I am hoping to see the car myself tomorrow. But overall I hope the Forte is better than Perodua's Hype. The Alza was rather dissappointing as it felt like kereta potong. From the side it looks cheap like a Myvi glued to an inokom.

Forte is a good jump upwards for people who drives Proton as the cost is not that much compared to the Wajunk.

I went to Taman Maluri branch. They have both the Ex and SX version for viewing.

He is encouraging to book the 2.0 and says the car is available in 2 weeks. Now I also don't know who to believe. There is no 2.0 for testing as he says that Langkawi demand was too good for the 2.0. I might buy the 1.6 if the car is not too sluggish.

I booked my car at Taman Maluri this evening. Funny thing is that he is confident that the car can be delivered in 2 weeks if the loan is in order. Do you think the SA is not telling the truth as I can see from others who booked earlier saying they can't get the 2.0 Forte.

He said that out of 500 cars, 300 are 2.0, 100 for the 1.6ex and 1.6sx. Over 100 units had been sold in Langkawi as it was opened for booking a few months ago.

I decided to take the risk anyway. It is bad planning as I am keen to get the 2.0 but how can you buy a car without seeing it. The only way is to see whether you are happy with the 1.6sx engine. No chance to drive fast as Taman Maluri was quite jam. Only manage to bring up to 80km/h but at low speed the car feels much nicer than the Waja. Did you notice the tyre noise from the car? I wonder how much better if you changed to a better tyre.

So now I am still unsure whether need to buy the 2.0 because if the 1.6 is good enough no need to waste money.

So I take it you are downgrading to 1.6?

I don't know whether you agree with this but by buying the 1.6sx, you won't lose too much in depreciation and the 1.6 is good enough for a car of this size?

Another new story to add to the confusion. 2.0 only available next year and it is CKD. I wonder how does Naza manage their operations.

Ask them 2.0 got auto cruise say got. Side mirror can fold also got. I think their sales people really blur about what is in the car spec.

Someone should feedback to Kia that their launching is badly planned with different SA telling you when you can get the car or what is the car accessories.

wondering where all these wrong information came from?

Anyway I hope you are not from Naza. The branch I am dealing with is Taman Maluri. Like you say some of the SA are pretty new. I am just worried about how Naza manages their customers expectation as it does not give a good impression if they are merely accepting bookings and not giving a realistic date for car delivery.

However I have to admit they are very friendly.

QUOTE(Fortelover @ Nov 26 2009, 04:57 PM)
To all my fellow Forte Lovers/Admirers,
I'm now going for 1.6SX, changing my initial plan to get the 2.0SX. Reasons...

1) Dunno what's the exact release date for the 2.0SX? like JoLee & Bomberman's notes, very likely next year (Jan?Mar? Apr? dunno)... and by then, it could well be a CKD (who know they might start to produce locally due to high demand? The Manager told me all recently arrived are "CBU" and are all 1.6)
2) Tested drive the 1.6SX 2 times and SATISFIED ! 1 short distance, another farther.. clear road, traffic light, uphill (flyover), traffic jam.. all worked well for me. It's more than sufficient for my daily commute around town.. not to forget there were 3 adults & 3 kids in the car. FC from initial 15.3l/100km drop to 14.2l/100km.. so far no sluggish feeling
3) 1.6Sx means cheaper installments/road tax/insurance.. if 1.6SX is already sufficient, no need for 2.0 already..

Loan approved @ 9y for 3.1%. Now waiting for the Branch's confirmation on car allocation (cos Clear White is really high demand).. Once allocation is confirmed, can pay the remaining down-payment and drive home my Forte. The car is spacious, comfortable, and well sufficient for my family. Decision made, deal closed.

I agree with you. Like I said yesterday, the determining factor is whether the 2.0 engine power gives a big difference. If the 1.6 is good enough why not save some money. I am keen on the 2.0 but with all the funny rumours going around and now saying car is ckd if collect in January is a big put off. Yesterday the SA say can get in 2 weeks. Today speak to another SA 2.0 is only available in January 2010 and is CKD. They also expect you to buy the car without testing and not knowing what suprise they may give you. Worst thing is you may get cruise control but they may drop the 6 airbag etc.
