guys, if the hdd is removed and the ps3 is turned on, will it still operate? and what msg will appear?

guys i have a question, see my ps3 is showing yellow lights so i guess it been hit by YLOD i guess but the question is if this happen does the ps3 brick or wont start at all? cause mine can start but it take several on off trail until i get the ps3 on and when its on it run as normal. so please tell me what does my ps3 sickness is? and if its the YLOD how to fix it and how much will it cost me thanks

that's the symptom of ylod, the same thing happened to my fat ps3 before it was hit by ylod. Sometimes when you play a game, the ps3 will auto shutdown itself and the frequency will increase.

I guess you should prepare for the worst . In my opinion it's better to buy a new ps3 than trying to repair if you have the money.

Just like to share some infor,aku nyer PS3 bau osak bulan lepas sebab lense tebakor,tapi yang bestnyer still in warranty period,lagi satu bulan nak abis,nasib baikkkkk

Mine just shuts down with the blinking light ONLY when I'm playing Uncharted 2. Happened with the demo as well.
All other games run fine.

dude when you first downloaded the U2 demo did you get an error where you can't install the demo?

hmm.. no not at all.. it was the early beta before the public one came out.

that means that the console is overheating need to cool, i cant believe that ps3 is also suffering overheat issues just like the xbox did

yeah the red blinking light is usually an overheating issue.. but i only get it when i play uncharted 2.. i think uncharted 2 pushes the ps3 to the max! fan works too hard.. my old ps3 is too weak..hehe sigh!

after uncharted making major disaster on fw 3.0 and now uncharted 2 with overheating the ps3 problem...sigh...

YLOD = Hardware Failure or HDD...

try to take out your HDD first...
turned ON and see if your PS3 can ON or not
if it can...then your HDD must be corrupted...

but if your PS3 blinking red yellow red...then its the hardware failure...

cant turn ON ....so it will be board problem or power supply???

try send it for repairing....
