If your car has 4 gears in Auto.Just equate OD to 4th gear.
If OD OFF, it means no 4th gear.
In D - car is using 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear only.
In 1 - car is using 1st gear only.
In 2 - car is using 1st and 2nd gear only.
If OD is ON,
In D - car is using 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear.
