how sure r u tat ron 92 can be used without any problem popping out?if myvi can afford to use ron95 without any problem then i dont mind using it...its just tat my car is still new....dont dare to abuse the car lol...
*
Very sure. Only thing is u gotta find the stations with higher turnover, some hidden in middle of nowhere place their ron92 dunno how many years adi, causing a 'no power' feel. I normally pump 92 along highway stations, fresh fuel dun feel any diff compared to 97. 95 sucks, make the ron92 phase out shakehead.gif

hi guys, just to ask sumthing about K&N drop in for myvi, some say it helps a little in acceleration, but some still stick with stock filter and think that aftermarket filters are not necessary. I'm currently wondering whether should i change it to K&N to get a little more juice from my myvi, hope u guys could give me some advise?about de-cat.....does it really improves as well?how about the noise after de-cat?still like normal?
*
my recommendation is to use the stock filter change every 10k or 15k, preferably p2 filter cos theres a bit of diff in the filter material if u use the aftermarket compatible filters. 10k or 15k depends on how dusty are the places u drive thru

QUOTE(cheeann @ Jun 19 2009, 12:17 AM)
yes,it did~
cuz i had increase ur camber setting which normally  aunty / uncle drive sure wear inside shoulder a bit but for u still wearing outside shoulder instead,so tat's how i know u've been taking sum corners+ if u notice ur front tires got a bit chipped on d outer shoulder like 'mouse bite'? ?    smile.gif
*
oic.. can feel ma wink.gif the parada spec2 i had, always have this prob no matter how hard i pump em up..always wear edges
so if wanna main performance tyre.. highly recommend pp2.. keep under the bed for a few months also never lose pressure much biggrin.gif

Plan to buy Myvi for my GF to drive to work. Prefer 1.3 Auto used car. Don't feel worth to spend RM 40k+ on Myvi.
What year should I look and price that is reasonable?
Is there a lot of problems?
*
Aiyah bro..
now oni u want ar...
I sold my 2006 auto 1.3 fullspec (premium) for 32500.. tiptop cond and scratchless paintwork (although got stonechips laugh.gif)

most of the 2005/06 ones seem to have better finishings...i think.. which are also the ones using the fat sparkplug (NGK BKR6EY11) reputed to be better engine than the newer 07/08 ones? In my case (2006) model very reliable, never breakdown...even stock battery also still running perfectly

Only problem with the myvi is tat the freaking disc brake warping problem..
claim hundred of times also same problem
MY theory is that the ventilated disc is too thin (if it was solid old school disc it wud not warp).. to be ventilated - it warps under normal use.
So.. if u wanna solve it for good get a solid disc from other car with the same dimensions (size, thickness and PCD100) to replace the stock disc.. then i wud say ta-dah, prob solved for good.

all wira's rim can fit in2 myvi but myvi's 1 cannot fit wira~
if u need wira's rim then u try pm-ing ceo684 cuz i believe he has it for sales since he sold his ride edi~
*
Yeah cos the center hub hole for myvi is smaller than the wira center hub itself.. but i saw a wira before using the myvi stock rims.. sweat.gif

Then that's bad .. I am driving Honda Accord SV4 .. The seat is very nice .. I feel very comfortable with it ..
Whenever I drive Hyundai Atoz .. My back will feel sore .. The seat is freaking L shape..
Heard Swift has very comfortable front seat.. That's why I consider getting it ..
If take Myvi go change sport seat... Looks like sohai .. K-kar become sport car wannabe..  sweat.gif
*
At one time i almost changed the seat to some recaro seat, cos stock seat too slippery to layan corners laugh.gif

QUOTE(jackal1950 @ Jun 22 2009, 12:37 PM)
1. All the while I send my MyVi 2006 to authorised perodua service center for service. If i take it to non-authorised perodua service center like fasfik, lim tayar, etc for service then will the warranty be void?

2. How many KM can a timing belf last? Mine is a stocked car without any modification.

3. Will it be cheaper if I buy my own brake pad and take it to the service center for the mechanic to change?

4. My tyres left 10% flower. I wonder which brand of tyres are good. Thought of changing it to 185/60/R14. I do not want to use back the same Good Year NCT5 which came with my MyVi since I bought it.

5. My car need engine oil change already. I wonder those non-authorised perodua service center will do the changing accordingly or not. Because the authorised perodua service center will advise you that you need to change spark plug for this time of service.

6. Will it be cheaper if you buy your own engine oil and bring it to the service center?

Thanks for you reply or feedback.
*
1. Yes but at this point not much stuff under warranty, engine and a few things oni (under the extended warranty thing)
2. 1.3 myvi timing chain. lasts for life.
3. Careful with d brand of pads.. some are crappy
4. Michelin PP2 thumbup.gif
5. Service interval is all in the manual. Follow tat one, service mana mana also same.
6. Can't really save much rite? Engine oil at SC wont kill u.. they chop u on labour

QUOTE(thyper @ Jun 22 2009, 04:13 PM)
Wira's rim can fit myvi but myvi's rim cannot fit wira? Is it all myvi's rim including SE cannot fit to wira?
Thought of upgrading myvi's to 15" rim and then SE rim put to wira.... blink.gif
*
Assume all myvi rims [cannot fit wira] due to center hub hole.. but i saw a wira in klang.. using myvi stock rims

by right, no such thing.

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Jun 22 2009, 06:20 PM)
Hahaha... The car i am driving is almost the same year as yours.. Let me share with you my own experience.

1. As soon as the warranty is up, i never turn my head back to SC. The simplest reason being the long Q and the inefficient of their problem finding skills.

2. Safe side 70K.

3. It will be cheaper if you just changed it outsite all the way. SC charge me RM40, shop outsite charge RM20 only. If i help a bit, charge RM10 only.

4. This one i really admire you man...10% of thread only? Just be careful your tire won't burst la... You can actually go for 185/65/14, i like thicker tire...better bump. On the rubber brand, choose one between your budget and your driving style la. Michelin PP2 and Falken 912 always pop up. Do check out more.

5. Most of the time, i keep track of my own service...this way you will know what to change for the next service.

6. Cheaper if you just changed it outside.

If you stay near Sri Kembangan area, i can recommend you one.
*
Some shops charge ~5-10 labour for e/oil change

Hmm yea there's still luggage but we're travelling light..hopefully. Otherwise as you said, just take stops on the way to eat/toilet etc..Btw, what's the best fuel efficiency speed on flat road for myvi? I heard it's around 90km/h? If got 5 ppl would be slightly less I suppose? Petrol expensive la..haha
*
Best would be anything around 80-90kmh. 100 for manual and 110 for auto would still be ok, but 80-90 is the best for fuel economy. Anything above 70kmh to 100-110 will be sufficiently economical lah.

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Jul 25 2009, 01:08 AM)
Petrol expensive ah?

5 ppl share share lor... everyday free ride meh, mana boleh tahan....
*
5ppl shud be quite cheap lah.. if u want to save $.. use federal road in d daytime.. no toll.. very cheap cos u'll be driving around 80-90
Just remember to hug the left side of the road, not the centre line to maximise separation with the oncoming traffic and only overtake when 100% confident, then u'll be safe.

QUOTE(Oly @ Jul 25 2009, 01:12 AM)
actually...perodua and daihatsu cars oni 4 passenger oni...
*
4 passengers will be nice lah.. for each to have a carry-on luggage size of luggage, of cos 2 will be in smaller bags XD

5 oni can use small bags.. luggage, problem.

Anyone know FC for myvi manual? Compare to BLM manual, which one better?
*
Myvi manual 500km for 32L fulltank. Auto 400km +/-20km for 32L.

For these figures, -100km if ur driving in KL jam. -50km if stuck in USJ jam. Figures accurate for daily 40km commute Klang-Bangsar.

MF batteries suck, the old skool one is better provided the driver maintains the water level every few months

the MF batteries can die off and still show GREEN..
