hey ppl... Planning to send my car for service the first time after my warranty period over. The thing is I drop-by Eneos at my area just now and ask unfortunately, they dun have P2 engine oil so ask me to use their Eneos brand engine oil oh. The reason I wanna send there is also partly ask them to clean my K&N drop in filter and fix the Pivot VS so now a bit confuse whether wanna go back P2 SC for service or not. Can u guys share wat brand of engine oil did u all use aside from P2 wan or any brand 2 recommend that's good for myvi or should I stick back to P2 better?? icon_question.gif

Just sent my car for service today. P2 SC was fully booked so I brought the engine oil (semi-syn) from them and went to Eneos for the servicing. It's a little bit cheaper and I'm quite satisfied but compared to P2, P2 SC had better service as they will explain everything to me after service always. Managed to fix my Pivot Raizin also. Quite satisfied with the result. Now my car felt more responsive and smoother to drive (smoother gearchange), no more lag when the fan kick-in thumbup.gif hopefully will help in my fc too.

However, there is one prob that's still bothering. My brake seems to be making squeeking sound almost everytime I brake. Asked the ppl in Eneos to verify then they just skimmed a little bit off. The sound is lesser now but still exist. Don't know what's the source of the problem as I just changed my brake pad 5k km ago. Anyone has any experience on this??

i used eneos 5w-30 after my third free services... tongue.gif
*
5W-30 is fully synthetic rite and how much they charge you for the servicing package? I was told that fully synthetic can last longer (longer mileage) till your next service rite, so how frequent did you go for your service? Besides that, is it really much better compare to P2 original semi-synthetic oil?

0W30 only is fully syn~
fully syn if u wan 2 use it for 10k km then u must change d oil filter at 5k km for better filteration~
*
hmm hmm.gif I think I got mixed-up already coz someone mentioned that he use Motul 5W30 Fully Synthetic in the previous post. Haiz, noobie here... Thanks for your answer anyway. So is it advisable to use fully synthetic oil for myvi coz it's local car only oh? My dad use it on his Honda Accord as far as I know ler so I thought it's usually for higher end cars only. Btw, mind explaining the benefit of fully-synthetic??

exactly, any pro here noe hw to solve this problem?
is this problem tat also will lead to the brake warping problem as i can feel the brake not smooth ..... hmm.gif
*
u mean the 'kruck kruck' sound is a defect?? I've been noticing it since my first few months of using my car (which is already 2 years plus now) but thought it's because the absorber reacting and due to the not so good insulation we can hear it, not?? where exactly they put de grease? perhaps can diy...

I'm also facing some prob now after changing my brake pad (aftermarket type, not P2 original) now after it has worn off... There's some squeeking sound everytime I brake. Don't know what's the source of the problem as I've tried skimming the brake discs a little bit already during my last service.

hey guys..my myvi 40600 km d...nid to svc by 40300km. It's myvi Ezi auto 1.3 2007. Just got it few months back 2nd hand. what should i change/check? Some probs i encountered:
i) when brake steering will shake(certain speeds)
ii) steering wheel position is not center when wheels are. (5 degrees to the left)
iii) some sounds from the front when on rough roads(like smtg loose)
iv) air cond not dat cold(or isit normal for myvi...compared to saga)

Another question, should i go p2 SC or just do it outside?? cos no more warranty..2 years past d. pls pm me smile.gif thanks!!!
*
(i) Common prob in myvi's but i didn't experience it before so far.. SC should be able to fix it... could be brake disc surface needed grinding d coz not flat due to wear and tear...
(ii) steering wheel not fix properly maybe or alignment problem... mine also the same but didn't get it fix coz it's juz a lil bit... apparently it's bcoz when they assemble de steering wheel, they never fix it properly..
(iii) experienced this sound before... some metal lose... due to the bonnet not properly fix after a minor accident (is the car accident free??) where i hit de front bumper... de bonnet got dislocated a bit then ask the SC to adjust it back tight, now it's fine and no more sound...
(iv) air-cond i think need to service d coz myvi doesn't come with a/c filter so easily get dirty but filter can be bought from shops outside easily... mine also same prob, not as cold as when it's new but has yet to get it service...

hope my answers are helpful... they're based on my experience with the car after 2 years smile.gif

I just want to ask a noob question  hmm.gif , since I still in the planning stage so I choose to ask here.

What is the difference between EZ and EZi? As in what extra things the EZi will have?
*
hmm... EZi u get additional rear spoiler, ABS, dual SRS airbags, height adjustable seats, silver painted interior panels, radio player with bluetooth system and blue coloured optitron meter instead of amber... can get more detailed info from Perodua

yeap...thanks smile.gif how much will new brake pads cost? so the aircond just send outside svc??  and the filter have to be bought separately? where to put the filter?? nid to make any mod or not? haha...alot questions ...new to myvi... and its a 2nd hand car..
*
New brake pads depending on what type u wanna use and what your budget... If change back ori wan from SC I was quoted RM45 (for local) or RM200+ (for japanese)... Just for your info myvi's original brakepad that comes with the new car is Japanese wan from wat I've been told by the SC... However, there're plenty of choices for aftermarket wan.. I'm using Ferodo Zero now which cost me RM95.. Braking power is superb but quite dusty and noisy... If wan gd wan go for sumitomo about less than RM200...

Yea, air-cond can service outside as your warranty is over d.. Filter can be easily brought from shops outside or can buy from lowyat.net here also... I know a few forumer selling it here under automotive section in LYN street mart... The location to fix your a/c filter is behind your glovebox compartment. You need to take out the glovebox then you'll see a box where u can place your a/c filter inside without much mod (unless yours got a built-in cover then need to cut the cover off).. If you buy ori daihatsu wan, it does come with a specially-designed cover as well so you can cover it back after you put in the filter..

Hope my info is helpful enough... So, wat model you're driving and how old??

My dad used to polish his car with some kind of polish (forgotten what brand) but the smell is really terrible... Seriously, it smells like sh*t, that's y until now I never attempt to polish my leather yet... Lol... Anyone polish their leather seats before?? mind telling me what brand is good and not so smelly??

all myvi starts vibrating at 120kmh if i'm not mistaken. my friend had his myvi armed with ultra racing strut bar and rear anti roll bar. according to him, the vibration at 120kmph reduced alot. but the steering had gone tighter compare to last time.
*
I tink nimrod323 did mentioned that de steering vibrate wildly.. I dun tink normal normal myvi's steering will vibrate that badly even at 160km/h.. Probably it's de balancing prob.. Mine is still fine even at 150km/h (never try anything more than that), maybe a slight vibration after 120km/h but it's not very noticable.. btw, i do notice an improvement after i change to 195 series tyres compared to de original size which is 175 series last time.

Hey Guys,

by picking the most basic model(EZ) of auto gear myVi, which without ABS brake and airbag, what is your opinion whether it will worth to get it or should go for higher spec ?

is ABS important to us ?

Thank you !

Added on November 6, 2009, 7:20 amany promotion currently and which branch is good to go ?
*
The ABS has saved me from some minor accident before. There was two occasion when I made an emergency brake during a slippery rainy day and I managed to stop in time (very near to the car in front) when the ABS kick in (can feel vibration on the brake pedal) because I can feel the wheel skidding. I was was just thinking if not for the ABS, I would have hit the car in front but that is just my thought. Just my personal experience.

Btw, does anyone knows what's the FC for SE auto? i haven't really tested mine.. cause i always idle at one place for long long...

Also, does anyone find that the mat finishing touches to interior doors very troublesome? very easily scratch and cannot wipe away...zzz..
*
I can get average about 340-360km/27.777litre/RM50 (About 12-13km/l) with Ron95. The best consumption I've ever get is 380km/26.04l/old rate of RM50 with Ron97 (14.6km/l). Btw, mine is the old SE but I think it's the same since all the technical parts are similar but I'm running on slightly heavier 15inch rims with 195/55 series tyres.

About the matte finish interior, yea mine got scratch a bit too especially the back doors while I was carrying some sharp goods. However, I think matte finishing looks more quality to me compare to shiny plastic finishing, lol.

hello how to take off the water spray on the hood? sorry noob here. haha
*
I'm not too sure but from what I observed before, I think it's juz a clip, just take it off after disconnecting the tubes that is connecting to it. I managed to witness it while I was changing my nozzle spray to the type with LED light in the accessory shop. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is it better to put this from the perodua shop or better outside? Is quality the same from both? As the quote from the perodua shop is around RM200++. But i got quote from outside near sunway RM160

So is the one in sunway reliable?? Both price paint already included in
*
Dun worry bro, it's juz a plastic moulding, I think those they sell outside are almost of the same quality or perhaps totally the same. It's normal that official SC always charge higher for their accessories. As an ex., I did personally enquire about the new SE spoiler before, they quote me RM400+ in the SC but I managed to get about RM200+ outside with the same quality biggrin.gif

Nelson88 thanks for your insights on the fuel consumption... So using ron95 myvi can averaging RM0.1429 per km... hmm this is quite high but anyway i'm used to driving manual previously now auto.. so can't really compare loh.. haha
*
Not a problem bro.. Yea, auto tranny myvi's give quite high fc compare to manual but I've overheard from the forum (not sure if it's this forum or other forum) that it's possible to achieve 400km for the amount I mentioned (RM50) although I've yet to get the figure myself. If you want, you can opt to make some minor upgrades (irridium spark plug, K&N air filter or perhaps VS), that might help a little as you can drive slowly yet not feeling the lag (Smoother and more responsive at low speed) that much (That's what I did tongue.gif )

*
Juz a scratch and you want to change the whole bumper?? Lol... Unless you meant serious scratches but even then most of the scratches can still be touched up and resprayed. Btw, I you planning to change it I dun see any reason why anyone should pay more and change in the SC as they are of the same quality (I mean the bumper) and if you can find a good person to fix it there's no difference at all but you have to pay double in SC. Even the person in SC asked me to changed outside when I asked for the price last time tongue.gif

I'm going for my 56k service soon and I notice something amiss with my car... When the car is at idling and the fan is turn off, I notice my rpm drops till like 0.55k and the engine like vibrates a bit and feels like wanna shut off a bit.. The prob is not very serious but I haven't got this problem before this.. From my experience from my other frens car (not myvi) it's because the throttle body needs cleaning d.. Am I right about this??

Another thins is that I did helped out some1 to jump-start his car about a week back in a parking garage.. The jump-start failed then the guy decided to transfer my battery to his car to start-up then transfer back the engine to my car.. This was done with my engine turned off.. Could this be the cause of it?? My battery is already 2 years plus (since I bought the car) and I think it's almost time to to change already also...

i found out tat myvi digital fuel meter reading not accurate most of time...
like after fueled up full tank....drive more than 60km only drop 1 bar....then drive another 30km drop to 2nd bar....
sometime drive even more than 80km only drop 1 bar.
my driving style remain same, most of time heavy foot....whack untill 4500rpm then shift gear, highway average 120-140kmh
i'm using 1.3 auto....
*
I would say this is a normal thing as petrol do expand and contract and in addition, digital meter are not that precise compare to analogue.. Notice sometimes when u turn off the engine the one bar that already dropped will appear back when you start your engine again later?? Waa, u're a really heavy foot driver, I do drive like that sometimes when I'm rushing to my class but not most of the time.. Juz wondering how's ur fuel consumption like??
