Hi,

Do you guys drive under 100km/h for the first 1K km?
I drove 80-90km/h currently but when it almost reach 90km/h, I hear whistle sound....Anyone having this prob?
Btw, how much is the fuel tank in Myvi? Yesterday I pump RM40 and it automatically pops out. Thought it already full but when I start my car the indicator shows 1 more block to Full.
Any advise?
*
The tank size is 40l, i guess... So do some maths = RM72 full tank.

When you say you pumped RM40 and the pump jumped, what was your indicator that time?

ya meh, thats y im curious, actually before this i went to showroom and take a look at myvi se orange color, the window look dark and ive been informed that glasses have UV protection. so guess it will be same on new facelift premium version. laugh.gif hmm.gif

Whatever comes original in your car, it is ok with JPJ. Funny right? but it is true.

The indicator is at lowest level and blinking...
*
When i first get the car, i did some observation. I always hit full tank when it starts blinking, only to realize that i can only pump in ~30l...but the tank stated i 40l for full tank.

hhmmm...so based on my own calculation, my FC is ~13.3KM/l. So when it starts blinking, i can still afford for ard 130KM...but of course la, i will only drive for another 50km and go pump already...driving pattern makes a different too.

Just sharing.

hi guys, just to ask sumthing about K&N drop in for myvi, some say it helps a little in acceleration, but some still stick with stock filter and think that aftermarket filters are not necessary. I'm currently wondering whether should i change it to K&N to get a little more juice from my myvi, hope u guys could give me some advise?about de-cat.....does it really improves as well?how about the noise after de-cat?still like normal?
*
The filter should increase air-flow into your engine for better combustion.

Better air-flow, lower filtration (Some say bad to engine, some say who cares)

Stock air-filter, low on air-flow but best on filtration because made from paper thingy. Change every 20k or 40 k and only cost you RM20.

Using all the after market air filters will give a better response from your engine to your ride.

Have fun with the K&N. smile.gif

What is de-cat? Remove your catalytic converter, is it? I heard it might be noisy, but if the mechanic know how to do it...then you can really lower the noise lor... But really power la.

Oh... That is quite a nice price .. I've seen a lot at RM 35k ~ RM 40k but don't know how to choose.. Never buy local car before..

Any problem other than the disc brake?

If Myvi fail to impress me.. Maybe collect more cash for Vios / swift ..

Thanks ..  smile.gif
*
Yup, once the disc brake problem is solved then the car is excellent to drive. Cheap and can be easily maintained.

QUOTE(jackal1950 @ Jun 22 2009, 12:37 PM)
1. All the while I send my MyVi 2006 to authorised perodua service center for service. If i take it to non-authorised perodua service center like fasfik, lim tayar, etc for service then will the warranty be void?

2. How many KM can a timing belf last? Mine is a stocked car without any modification.

3. Will it be cheaper if I buy my own brake pad and take it to the service center for the mechanic to change?

4. My tyres left 10% flower. I wonder which brand of tyres are good. Thought of changing it to 185/60/R14. I do not want to use back the same Good Year NCT5 which came with my MyVi since I bought it.

5. My car need engine oil change already. I wonder those non-authorised perodua service center will do the changing accordingly or not. Because the authorised perodua service center will advise you that you need to change spark plug for this time of service.

6. Will it be cheaper if you buy your own engine oil and bring it to the service center?

Thanks for you reply or feedback.

Hahaha... The car i am driving is almost the same year as yours.. Let me share with you my own experience.

1. As soon as the warranty is up, i never turn my head back to SC. The simplest reason being the long Q and the inefficient of their problem finding skills.

2. Safe side 70K.

3. It will be cheaper if you just changed it outsite all the way. SC charge me RM40, shop outsite charge RM20 only. If i help a bit, charge RM10 only.

4. This one i really admire you man...10% of thread only? Just be careful your tire won't burst la... You can actually go for 185/65/14, i like thicker tire...better bump. On the rubber brand, choose one between your budget and your driving style la. Michelin PP2 and Falken 912 always pop up. Do check out more.

5. Most of the time, i keep track of my own service...this way you will know what to change for the next service.

6. Cheaper if you just changed it outside.

If you stay near Sri Kembangan area, i can recommend you one.

Guess this was discuss before, check out the front disc brake. The rest is nothing major except you have to be careful of the previous driver usage of the car.

Yeah cos the center hub hole for myvi is smaller than the wira center hub itself.. but i saw a wira before using the myvi stock rims..  sweat.gif
At one time i almost changed the seat to some recaro seat, cos stock seat too slippery to layan corners  laugh.gif
1. Yes but at this point not much stuff under warranty, engine and a few things oni (under the extended warranty thing)
2. 1.3 myvi timing chain. lasts for life.
3. Careful with d brand of pads.. some are crappy
4. Michelin PP2  thumbup.gif
5. Service interval is all in the manual. Follow tat one, service mana mana also same.
6. Can't really save much rite? Engine oil at SC wont kill u.. they chop u on labour
Assume all myvi rims [cannot fit wira] due to center hub hole.. but i saw a wira in klang.. using myvi stock rims
yesssssssss  sweat.gif
by right, no such thing.
Some shops charge ~5-10 labour for e/oil change
*
Oh ya...I forgot that Myvi using timing chain.

Where can get those Guang Dao or Hot Inazma? Cost of installation?
*
Can try Pivot also le...Japan made but please please be careful of imitation. Those imitation one sometimes working sometimes not, even when it is working i also dunno what it is doing...hahahha

Anyway, most of the time the VS is free for installation...a very simple installation, don't think the installer will charge you for that.

Hi, I am going to loan a 1.3L SX MYvi. I'm wondering is there any things I should consider before and after the purchasing. I did read some about the VS things, but I still not sure what is that...

Pls comment me about this car model. Btw, I'm kind of low expanse, dunno how I'm count, I also feel like not enough $$ to use. Theoretically car loan, service, insurance and petrol hv cost me 1100 per month, cuz I hv to travel 30km*2 to work and home everyday. haha..lol..

Thanks and sorry if I am wrong :-)
*
I dunno about car cosmetics so basically all car is the same to me, but i definitely love manual lor...

What to consider? hmmm...if it is a new car, the more general one would be the abs and the disc brake(Caliper mainly). Try to have all those replace before end of warranty period.

Other than these, i guess you will need input from some others. For me i only have the braking system problem. It judders and wrapped.

Do choose wisely. Have a nice day.

I am aiming for manual car as well. but I am out of budget to upgrade to 1.3L SXI (with ABS & EBD). So can I upgrade manually, how much will this cost and will this affect my warranty? If I don't upgrade it, is it really will affect. I am out of budget  sad.gif

Thanks..
*
Work within your budget will do... ABS or EBD, at the end it is still the driver attitude on the road that matters.

Why not? Your car still need to warm up a bit...sometimes long distance driving can let you know more about your car. If anything, just go back to SC lor...
