Will post pic and more results later on higher vdimm..
Pic of setup about the same as profile pic except with dfi
For DFI x58's

I find memtest hci and memtest86+ is fake on vdimm
hyperpi is somewhat fake cause all u need is to have stable vtt voltages
it will accept lower vdimm a lot by around 0..05v
prime95 set large fft then custom change run fft to 5.4gb is the best for vdimm
linx is best for vcore and ioh/ich voltages.
also HT off requires more vtt voltage than HT on

Test rig
I7 920
DFI UT X58 the8
Kingston Hyperx T1 3x2gb 2000mhz CL8
GTx285 sli.

Rated at 2000mhz CL8-8-8-24 so it should run 1866 CL7-8-7-20 , 1600 CL6-7-6-18 at the same voltage

Result of rated speed

1.56set, DMM Read 1.551v - this is the UT default voltage

2000 8-8-8-24 1n vtt 1.37

had to abort linx. ambient temp now 36C will do this again on a cooler day with a hr05 and some fans.
take note i am testing in the casing not a bench rig.
more to come.

was curious how fast is this with ht on

Max Stable if u have the kahuna's to run prime95 is 1.86vdimm vtt 1.68v .. csl7 should be 1.96v for vdimm but i try to abstain going more than 1.9v on x58. trust me its stable. once u figure out the trick to this mobo.. its just upping to the voltage.

Conclusion : Same Price As Corsair Dominator 1600mhz CL8 6gb so what u think

later need to install back the hr05 on the nb..

u saw the temp right at 1.48v on the vtt linx already 95C on first run, prime at 85.
2150 eh hit some kind of wall on the qpi lower dram speed ok on bclk 215 but 2150 eh.. need to figure that out..
aim is 2200mhz Cl8.

cl7 2100 is around 1.76v

nice c/p compare to dominator gt. same elpida hyper at a lower price , performance not bad too rclxms.gif

Added on May 10, 2009, 1:10 amcstkl1, i am a 775 user, got some question about i7. izit the vdimm over 1.65 really will make the memory controller burn? Immediately or after long time using?

no it doesnt

intel spec rates that in their testing the vtt to dram has to be less than 0.5v
any difference more than this will degrade the imc.

remember the i7 920 has a unclock mem . dfi mobo u can use it all

so like the ram above with such low voltage

u can run i7 920 stock with 1866mhzh CL7 dram at stock mobo voltage 1.55 with a slight increase of vtt from 1.21 to 1.28.
vtt still less than intel recommended less than 1.35v

Added on May 10, 2009, 1:39 ambtw thats y i didnt post 2000mhz cas6 cause require voltage was vtt 1.39 with vdimm 1.86..
thats cutting too close to the 0.5v

btw my proc and mobo has more than 200 hours of prime burned in and also more than 100 hours of linx.
most of the vtt voltage was around 1.48v-1.58v with dram ranging from 1.65-1.75 on multiple ram kits for testing..

not a single sign of degradation at all.

all done inside the casing.
but good cable management and airflow.
and good cooling on the proc is a must

well actually reserving my best mem speed for the europa project..

hint hint i beat bachus tongue.gif

ace yup thats the stock cooler.
its not the northbridge temp thats worrying its the pwm's

also take note all this is inside my raven testing..

adding hr05+70mm fan on the northbridge will reduce the pwm temp by 10-20C.

also weird was the new revision of the new ut in convergent now the pwm temps are less by 10-15c compared to above.

Err.....europa is max validation right?? sweat.gif
Good luck but you probably need better cooling to get the max clock needed smile.gif
