1. Risky for day trader, speculator, short-term investor as they need to monitor the price all the time. They cannot always stay in front of computer without sleeping.

2. Remisier no need to sleep ? Or sleep in office ? Imagine midnight 3am received a call from client said want to buy ABC share 100 lots when remisier is sleeping.

3. Broker house computer no need shut down ? Open the whole day for 10 years ?

Haha exactly.

Actually, the suggestions liast time was to reduced the trading time so it is more focus. I believe last time the suggestion to Bursa was to start at 10AM to follow Hong Kong opening and close at 4.30pm.

Last year, remisers suggested to close the market around 4pm, so that can go home earlier, or can do part time job. whistling.gif laugh.gif

Rojak bourses, rojak investors coming. sweat.gif

Mesdaq changes name to ACE.

White board, black board, no board also no different lah, just name calling only. If a company is poor or a sector is not good, changing name, merged or split, make no different. It is the quality of the listed company make the different and corporate governed and sincere company management that looking after shareholders matter the most that dictate how well and healhty of the stock market.

Changing packaging, not changing the content, still the same.

The idea of 24 hours or even extended trading hour is absurb. No offence.

Remember stock market is not a direct productive product, the longer it trades or the more people speculate in the market, it doesn't contribute to economy productivity at all.

It is just a platform of investment and capital raising market. Mild speculation will bring life to the market, overly or excessive speculation will only do the damage to the economy.

Also if you can't make money in 6 hours time, then make it 24 hours got any different meh?
or you can make good profit in 6 hours, make it 24 hours will make you more gain?

No offence. smile.gif

One word people, get a LIFE! You want to monitor the market so much, then by all means go monitor the markets worldwide! There's no stopping you and no boundary.

Opening longer hours means more speculation, not only by locals, but others who have opposing time difference. You don't need sleep doesn't mean everyone else doesn't need one. I wouldn't want to have a good night's sleep waking up to see that the price of my stocks have been speculated by those foreigners.

The idea of trading 24hour, is at best, absurd. And Malaysia stock market, being small by comparison of other stock markets, it is in the best interest for everyone (the stock trader, stock market itself, speculator) that Bursa Malaysia do not become the first one to try this round-the-clock trading.

Better let the big guys start it first, and improvise from there

asian people like to invest and earn $$ or even gamble. hope to earn 24hrs $$ even sleeping also can earn $$. thats the mentality of asian countries and malaysia. not enough and always tempted to earn more. especially high risk high gain indirectly.

there is pros and cons in it. always look at the bright sight and follow it whether like it or not and dont go against it.

as long as can earn $$ why not. always come out with bright ideas and be a good leader and have great vision rather than always be a follower.

24 hrs trading can be good and can be bad in either ways. asian trading always like speculating news, rumours, dividen, capital repayment etc dont care as long as can earn $$ is consider a good counter in their ways of thinking faster the better no need to wait. go in go out.

the behaviour of each individual is very interesting as specially when u have know their reaction. just like shares the right timing u go in u will be home already smiling

No $$ also borrow to gamble and invest, take high risk dont care. ALWAYS like to gamble/INVEST.

if look at the bright side of 24 hrs trading, it can boost alot of sector/business.

people will be learn alot of things. alot of things can change. nothing is 100% good.
by staying at home also can earn $$ and trade why not.

it is a good way to boost up the economy and since alot of country is in red and in need of $$. share trading is the faster way to recover and earn $$ than any other ways or printing $$.

investment

just my 2 cents

If think deeper, speculation aka goreng some junk stocks into sky high price is no different than ponzi or zero sum game. No offence.

In goreng, a stock price goes from 0.10 then being goreng until 10.00, then drop back to 0.10 (because it is junk so only worth 0.10), it is a totally zero sum game, aka winner takes losers money away only while broker firms are the ultimate winner through commission on both way, it doesn't contribute much to the real economy in this sense.

It won't do any good to the whole economy and society if market is over speculated. You will see more people being spoilt, suicide afterwards if creating those kind of speculative bubble. Because there is bounce to be a losers in the market. If think deeper, every traders is at losers end because the more you trade, the more brokers firm charge the commission, if a stock goes from 0.10 to 10.00 then back to 0.10.
It is no different than gambling in this case, as we know the house is the ultimate winner while everyone betting is at the loser end.

Mildly speculation is ok, but excessive definitely will bring a lot of harm.

In fact, the so call 24 hours trading now(eg the Dow futures) is not being done on one single exchange.

It goes around the globe through different exchanges, first,in US exchanges, after closing,it starts in Japan exchange, then Sydney and Singapore, then on to Europe and finally back to the US.They have worked out some kind of clearing arrangement where you can buy in US,and sell in say Europe and the contract can still be settled.

It is not practical to remain open continuously 24 hours non stop.
