---UPDATES--- [5th June 2009 Online Discussion]

Ok, I'll keep it short this time :

New Secretary : Lummy

New members
Wendy
Choong

Note to all members :
Adrian will be away from FFF related activities the whole of next week. Anyone who have anything to ask or etc, please contact either one of the committee members such as Dadarouch, Yukaeshi, myself and etc. We will attend to your queries.

Also, please make sure during discussions we all stay on track of the agenda. Any chatting or joking can be done either before the discussion officially starts or after it officially ends. tongue.gif (no hard feelings coz I know I also OTed a few times myself).

FYI, we are targeting to have an official discussion in first week (any of the day and is subject to change) of the every month.

Updates on the current situation
FYI, from now onwards we will be more strict in selecting people who are interested in joining the S.A.D team. This is so we can differentiate and weed out the 'curious onlookers'/all talk no action/hangat-hangat tahi ayam type and those who are genuinely interested to help out in this mission. There's been several people who expressed interest previously but suddenly drop out without notice - so to those of you guys who are really interested in helping out, please bear with our 'screening' process.

One of our new member Choong has offered to cover for the expenses for the choke chains - so a very big thank you for your contribution rclxms.gif

Ok, continue on :
The jackfruit planting project will start this Sunday and FFF has invited Bukit Gasing MP, Edward Lee to launch the project. S.A.D is invited as an honourable volunteer team, so all members who are going please make sure that you all arrive at FFF BEFORE 11am as that is the slated launch time.

Yukaeshi has designed several volunteer tags for S.A.D team and will post it up here for everyone to see. The tags are still subject for approval from Sabrina. Will update you guys on the tags status on a later date.

On another note, we are planning to have a get-together session for S.A.D members - perhaps a makan/yum cha session followed by a movie session. We have yet to decide on the date, location and movie to watch. Will update on this later as well.

This Sunday's agenda (7th June 2009)
10am : Meet up at Kelana Jaya station
11am : Arrive at FFF. Prepare for the jackfruit launching project and help out in whatever's that necessary
3pm : Depart from FFF

(Guys, if I get this wrong, please let me know)

=============================

Btw guys, I won't be available this weekend ya.

Cool down guys.

There's no need to explain to people why we do things the way we do it. Those people who criticise us for wanting to have a bit of fun wouldn't understand all the hard work that we have put in for this mission as they are the same type of person who sits behind the PC and criticise other people who actually went out to help while doing nothing about it themselves smile.gif

As mentioned by Dadarouch, we are not under anyone's payroll and we are entitled to have time off and have fun from the volunteering work.

Espada, don't get worked up over the criticsm. We all know what we all did for the dogs and FFF. No need to demand an apology.

I really don't see the need to create another forum for this mission. We are just a group of students/full-time office workers who volunteers some of our free time to help out in any way we can for the dogs and at FFF. Why the need for our own forum? No one is restricting our freedom of speech at all - just that there's a few people with too much time on their hands nitpicking at what we do during our time off from the volunteer work.

I don't see the same person who was criticising us gave anyone of us a word of appreciation (not that we're asking for it) for our work but have time to criticise us for wanting to have a get-together session. Anyone can clearly read that the updates are related to our mission except for the last part.

As mentioned by Dadarouch, the movie session mentioned was part of the minutes of our meeting. I don't see a need to explain to those who weren't there when and why the movies session topic was in the discussion last week since it is none of their concern. Those of you guys, including the new members, who were in the meeting will know the truth.

Anyway, just ignore nitpickers with too much time on their hands. We just do what we are supposed to do.

Thanks for the hard work last weekend guys. Really appreciate it.

well... perhaps you guys should then have the non-essential or non-dog rescue related discussions via PM.
the thing is, this dog rescue thing seems to have reached the public domain, and there is a very ugly spat going on between two sides. in turn this means that what goes on here can well be picked up and be blown up as an issue which in turn may hurt FFF.
at any rate, by limiting this thread to the rescue ops and discussions, it would make it easier for others to take you guys more seriously and perhaps convince the fence sitters to chip in?

my 2 cents onli wor.
*
Hi Madmoz, thank you for the feedback. Rest assured that we are not badmouthing any other parties that are involved in the dog rescue mission. As for the OT discussions, which I admit happened several times in this thread, we always bring it back to the main topic - discussions about what, where, who, when the missions are to done/conducted.

Apart from the minutes of the meeting stating that we want to have a get together session for S.A.D members, there was nothing in the thread at all about 'entertainment' activities.

I am sure anyone who has been following us closely since the beginning knows very well how serious all of us are about this mission. We can't help it if some people wants to make it look as if we're not serious about this and treating this mission as 'for fun'. We really don't see the need to tell them how much sweat, tears and money has gone in for this mission. smile.gif But anyway, thank you for your feedback.

The team won't be going to FFF this weekend, although some members might want to go over on their own.

I'm tired of explaining things these two days and I'll give myself time off. Those people can think of what they want of our team and mission as long as we stay true to our cause. New members are of course welcomed but as mentioned, there'll be a screening process from now on, so please bear with it.

As mentioned, I'm not available this weekend as I'm helping my brother to clean/move house. However, I'll try and see if I can make it this Sunday or not. Just don't count me in at the moment.

BTW Kaven, what time is it going to close? The booth I mean

Already registered but wish there's a place where we can submit suggestions. There's some improvement needed with the site's display format. smile.gif but those are not in important at the moment.

Celine right? Pam did mention in her comment on her blog that she is currently working on this new website with a friend, Jon.They are working on the migration from the old blogspot page while splitting time for the rescue work. I am sure in due time, they will look into all sort of visual as well as functionality improvements... smile.gif
*
biggrin.gif Yeah. That's why I say that's not so important at the moment. Maybe we can take candid pics and videos of the dogs in FFF and upload it to the site. biggrin.gif

The haze's been really bad these few days. Even my 2 year old niece is having allergy problem now (they live in Kota Kemuning). The Pulau Ketam dogs are all very weak, so they should have a harder time dealing with the current situtation.

Madmoz, do check on the updates by next Friday. Hope to see you and your missus. Thanks for the help

sap guys? I've read about this a few weeks ago and sent a mail to Sabrina... but I didn't get any reply sad.gif

Glad that I've found this thread, so... Hi? O_o
What's happening next
*
Hello. First of all, thank you for your concern. I'm sure Sabrina would've replied you if not for the sheer number of emails that she received from well-wishers, supporters, etc etc since the plight of the Pulau Ketam dogs came into light. Is there anything in particular that you would like to know? maybe we can fill you in.

Also, when you asked 'what's happening next?', do you mean the Pulau Ketam dogs rescue mission or what is our (S.a.D team) next plan of action?

Shouldn't be a problem for me to go over on that day. Might drag my father along as well.

I don't mind looking after one of the dogs but I don't wanna walk the dog in front of people. This job leave to Yukaeshi or Electronics girl if they're going

QUOTE(andromedia @ Jun 16 2009, 11:55 AM)
Good... FFF will need quite some work force this Sunday. Since there has been some expansion work going on for the last 2 week, we have more place to clean up now... not to mention more furry friends to feed! Joyce and Louis will know how hard it is to cook 50kg of rice by now... tongue.gif

Also, quite a few furry friends will need a good shower... and also some relocation of cages, cleaning of compound... the list could go on... tongue.gif

And Celine, you shy to walk the dogs on stage? You have to if you are assigned to be a handler. 10 individual handlers will have to look after their individual assigned furry friends throughout the event, and that include the fashion show 'dog"-walk... tongue.gif

Added on June 16, 2009, 11:56 amSteph, perhaps you can drop by earlier just to watch the fashion show... aren't you eager to see the furry friends all dressed up on stage? tongue.gif
*
rclxub.gif Then I prefer handle the booth, LOL. I get stage fright easily. Later both human and dog freeze on stage. rclxub.gif

QUOTE(andromedia @ Jun 16 2009, 02:20 PM)
Steph, Sabrina and team will head back to FFF after the event ends at 12 noon. If you wish to drop by, make sure you go FFF and not 1 Utama... smile.gif

And Adrian, you should at least hint to everyone what you are offering us as drinks to celebrate your appointment as the new administrator... tongue.gif
Avoiding isn't going to help... hehehe...

Kopi o kaw kaw cit puey lai.

Anyway, those who wish to participate in this Thursday's online discussion, kindly drop anyone of the committee members a PM with your msn id. We'll add you guys in.

adrianck,

Is the mission still on? S.a.D mission..
*
Yes, S.a.D is a long term ongoing mission. Save-a-Dog mission doesn't necessarily means it's only created to help the Pulau Ketam dogs although we are focusing and giving priority to it now (helping out at the farm and etc)

QUOTE(andromedia @ Jun 16 2009, 05:39 PM)
Have you forgot about Bobbie, that hyper-energetic black dog in the cage next to the dog's shower area? tongue.gif

Also, I believe Adrian will buy everyone a round of tea... right Adrian? tongue.gif
*
Bobbie? I don't think the goofball will be at the event gua. Later he busy bark until his voice hoarse again. The other male dog, the first male dog in FFF is spelled as Bobby is it?

Yea... that's the other Bobby... quite nice looking as a matter of fact... he may get selected too...

Cash will most probably be selected... everyone likes her... tongue.gif
*
Cash the manja sure will be selected lor. She's one of the prettiest and lam pat-pat (soft laugh.gif ) Bobby also quite good looking. One more I don't know her name but she looks a bit like a Husky, white-ish colour with large volume of fur.

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Jun 16 2009, 08:45 PM)
I like Cash, too. wub.gif

I miss Toh-Toh (very manja black dog with harsh fur, always curi nibble ppl's hand/pants, hehe), same name as my surname. not sure i typed the name correctly or not but it spells like that. biggrin.gif
*
Owh, her name is spelled Toh-Toh? I thought it was DoDo coz I heard people pronouning her name as DouDou (like the DoDo bird, not DoDo Cheng). She's the shar pei mix ya? Super manja.

===========

I just remembered something : You guys mentioned that the event will be on 4th July and said that volunteers turn out might be low due to Father's Day. I thought Father's Day is next Sunday...? Correct me if I'm wrong.

<-- dang blur these few weeks.
