it's practically simple really.
we (singapore + malaysia + japan) shares the same regional code.
while UK shares the same ones as OZ and euro countries.

some games are region locked, meaning it can be played on the machine it was designated for. like PAL region locked games, will only work on PAL machines (UK machines). most of these games are from EA. which is the biggest game publisher in the world. like every 6 games out of 10 today is being published by them. so if you are ok with playing the other 4 games (which is most of the time crappy), then go ahead, buy a UK machine then.

keep in mind that for buying UK machines, in order to bring it back here, SOMETIMES the malaysian customs will tax you. the total amount is more than what you might have paid for getting the machine here.

if you are looking to save money by buying a UK machine, well think of it that way. some games MIGHT NOT work, and you might get taxed. so there.
