 Iphone 2G usable without unlocking?

Guys, i m just wondering. Since the iPhone 3G is officially available in Malaysia under Maxis. Is it possible to restore my iPhonce 2G and use it without any unlocking using my existing Maxis simcard?

i rarely customize my iphone and find that the lagging in openning some apps irretating.

cant, you must unlock it first, because iphone 2g was not officially unlock.

That is a totally absurb question.


Using your proposed theory; since maxis is now offering the 3G iPhone, shouldn't that also imply that maxis users can now use AT & T or O2 UK iPhones without the use of yellowsn0w and sim card adapters?
