In the term of entering IPTA, it's better to get CGPA 2.6 in Matric/STPM rather than get CGPA 3.88 in Polytechnic (the highest CGPA I know failed in his application to Uni) smile.gif . Yes, it's a different quota, intake and some expert in education intake will said STPM/Matric and dip intake is different, but just sharing my information so at least you know which one is good and have more chances .... anyway, remember that dip from polytechnic will compete with dip from the u (private college but affliate with the u) and the chances to enter established public u is a little difficult except you choose the right u. . Anyway, congrats to your sister for getting a good courses .. smile.gif

Ok, what. Now giving you tips, if you want to rent a good house, do search and book it early 1 day before the registration date. And put the sign to rent so you can get a housemate to share the rent fee. Taman Cempaka is a good place to start to find, near the polytech,shop and pasar malam, and also can find future wife there, so many girl rent there .. brows.gif . Got big places to eat and the prices is cheap .. forgot the name .. anyway, congratz for being a PUO students .. first polytechnic in Malaysia .. rclxms.gif

At night, you can 'rempit' too ... Ipoh mali .. rclxm9.gif

If only from there, you can 'tumpang' your friends house anytime ... no need to rent at Taman Cempaka. I believe you know why . Just compare the house with your own home ... very different tongue.gif~

Those who failed to get UPU, try to appeal :

1) UTEM
2) UNIMAP
3) UiTTHO

and for those interested in computer science (UPM), try :

1) Network (recommended)
2) Computer System
3) Multimedia

take first and second year change to your desired one .. can do transfer credit lulz .. laugh.gif

**do not take software engineering ... hard to see polytechnic students there ...

Luck play an important role here. One time, even 3.6 do not successful into the research universities, but another intake, even people with no inside cable, no extra curricular activity, 3.1x or 3.2x got their chances in the first intake. Beating out other good candidates with CGPA more than 3.5. Sometimes, it quite funny with the way they handle the intakes. It depends on the mood and the stupid knowledge of the officer.

"Ini kerana, sekiranya pelajar politeknik mendapat keputusan Purata Nilai Gred Kumulatif (PNGK) 3.5, mungkin nilai markahnya di peringkat Matrikulasi atau IPTA hanya sekitar 3.00 saja.

"Sebelum ini, lulusan diploma politeknik hanya layak memasuki IPTA bidang teknikal saja. Menerusi penyelarasan, pelajar terbabit dijangka layak memasuki mana-mana IPTA atau universiti penyelidikan pada masa depan," katanya.

Beliau mengulas kegagalan ramai lulusan politeknik memasuki IPTA selepas menamatkan pengajian mereka peringkat diploma selepas menghadiri majlis berbuka puasa bersama penduduk di Masjid Taman Rinting, di sini, kelmarin.

For those who questioned why they have been rejected for years, now you know why ... laugh.gif . This only happened after year 2000 when there are intervention from some <censored .. la ptuiii > .....

BTW, good luck for those who still want to continue to Polytechnic but aimed to joined a prestigious universities .. I didn't know when will they revise the score but I bet it will take yearsssss whistling.gif
