Hey guys,
I have a question abouthow music videos are made.
In music videos where it shows bands playing (greenscreen or not,) do they actually play the song and then dub the recorded version over it, or do they pretend to play and then dub the music over it?
One day when me and my band write a good song, I might want to make my own home-made music video for it.

Remind me of November Rain's solo where Slash played his guitar outside the church without amp and stuffs. More like syok sendiri.

They record the song 1st, then the video are recorded & edited. There will be some cutting of the vids to match the mouth movement. When recording video, they will sing & perform also.

songs are already done. usually the music video is done at a later stage than the album/ep itself, usually depending on how far your band gets. the song is played out loud and the band (or whoever) plays along with it. several tricks are used, depending on how the director wants the video clip. usually for a fast paced song and video clip, the songs are played slightly slower (which is calculated) and during the editing stage, sped up to give it a more energetic feel. done not too obvious. on another note, when will SERPENT ASH have a music video?
