you could try this video encoder from XDA: Click here

been using it to convert a few videos from .avi and .mov and it's playing smoothly on HD using the HTC album / WMP...

edit: You can go here on how to improve the video playback on your HD.

Hi Kayk,

In fact I 'm using this..... and fact is... it take times !

Say...7 hours to convert 700 mb and sometime it just hang when reach 2/3 cry.gif

I'm rather to looking for solution like core player (but it lags)to play back all those file.

For some reason I believe coreplayer can be customizable to support hardware acceleration I just tried out all the option but in vain rclxub.gif perhaps some expert here can share on their setting? icon_question.gif

I wonder What bout others HD owner.. Do you guys really "CONVERT" ? or better solution (support hardware acceleration while playback).

The Core Player v 1.3.2 build 6909 on my HTC HD does not lag at all. I am using Dutty 3.3 ROM.

No, I have not tried 800X480 file.
I have gone thru 3 WM phones, 240x320, 240x400 and now 480x800. I have tried almost all the video commercial and freeware converters and to my surprise Pocket DivX Encoder can convert almost any video, hassle free. However the output video resolution size is limited. If you can live with that, then this converter is ideal. Since all WM phone screens are so small, the difference in the visual of the playback resolution is not noticeable.

Selecting a right video player is also as important. The Core Player v 1.3.2 build 6909 gives me hassle free play back, including flv files.

Pocket DivX Encoder and Core Player is an ideal pair rclxms.gif

Do you have tnyynt SD TuneUP.cab and ATI D3D driver installed?

Hi,

Do you mean after convert then you use coreplayer to play ? I thought core player should be able to play all kind of file without convert? I think the solution should be either the following
1. If the conversion doesn't lag then core player is the choice
2. If the coreplayer is lag then need to convert the file and use native player to play (downsize is need to bear with the conversion time)
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Frankly speaking I really like core player And I found out some update in the XDA forum that it doesnt support hardware acceleration for HD doh.gif

Anyway thanks for the Pocket DivX Encoder info bro! I shall try it out.

Just my 2 cent, you may try out to convert a movie and watch in the HD. Trust me.....you will have a unbelieaveable experience (that's why we call it HD). tongue.gif
