huh? u shudnt have any problems. first make sure you actually are CONNECTED to the net. not just put sim card but a data connection is active. as in the 3G symbol has that connected symbol. then u shud be able to do it

meaning,

1)my HD dun nid to be flashed into a specific rom?

2)my sim card is in the HD, how to make sure tat its is actually connected , when i see the "H" icon rite, but how to activate the connection?

hi guys, I'm having trouble with this phone currently

the charging port(mini usb) seems to be broken, it was working perfectly all the while just suddenly it stopped working, I can't charge the phone or connect it to a pc for activesync.

even when i try to plug in the socket charger there is nothing at all, the indicator light also doesn't come on

it just seems like the port itself is gone...tried a few different cables all same result

any advice on where i should fix it or how much it would cost?

usually,

its the soldering part of the mini usb to the motherboard loose....
look for a good phone technician to chk for you if your HD is over the warranty period, else send it back to SIS

cosmetically there is nothing wrong with that part (as far as I can see)

since you say usually it means this is a common issue for this phone? does it involve major repairs? cause i read on forums which say that the whole board might need to be changed

if its the mobo prob, expect the repair bill to >rm400, if you send it back to SIS ( if its over warranty)

I'm not sure what is the exact cause for it, flashed a new rom(could it be the rom?), used it for a bit then transferred some data etc

then when i tried to connect it back then just nothing happened

no warning signs nothing, even the power button indicator light doesn't come on already

if yes, try to get the battery charged using a "external clip-on charger" which you can charge the battery using the 2 clips of the external charger
it can be bought for abt rm10 fr most fon shops, the charging takes abt 2~3 hrs, and it is a slow charge which is a VERY good alternative, i used tat to charge my spare battery and it can last LONGER than a normal charge via the fon too

i don't quite get how the "external clip-on charger" thingy looks like, its a separate charger for the battery only?how about compatibility?

this is an external battery charger, u can even charge your digicam battery , most handfone battery can be clip and charge too
cost rm10 BUT some shops selling more than rm20

but another revelation to this saga , i've been able to charge the phone when I turn it off(still no indicator though), accidentally left the phone on charge and fired it up a few hours later with the battery fully charged

yea thats what i thought, it may have even screwed up the indicator light since it never comes on already...

now waiting to get a micro sd adapter so i could flash another rom via storage card

try to boot android for a change and let us knoe the result

haha got to try the stock roms first, though now can charge while phone is off but the indicator light still doesn't come on though
