My personal experience with the Omnia2 ) : PROS - excellent screen and beautiful interface . CONS - Very laggy ; the inbuilt interface is not smooth. I have used my htc HD since it was launched till Nov 09 ( sold off to buy HD2 ). Now that the official price for the htc HD has drop to RM2300+ it is a very good buy. Imagine I paid nearly RM3K for it then.
The Omnia 2 I use few days only and find is not suitable - anyway is only my opinion. Comparatively it is a cheaper buy but feel less value for money

So your overall experience is HD is better than Omnia2? I'm going to get HD this week..

any ROM tht is running WM6.1 but Manila 2.5?

Manila 2.5 available ONLY on WM 6.5

for all kwbr fans out there, kwbr has released a W6.5 custom ROM, Topix 3.2...windows mobile 6.5 build 5.2.21876 with 1.56.405 as base ROM with manila 2.1 weather...

may not be as new as others but i believe the ROM should be as reliable as his previous ROMs...flashing and testing...

Want to ask you all..What should i look at when I purchase this phone? Any special things to check?

when i'm buying phone i always check for this things:
1. the official distributor sticker: in this case, SiS sticker should be on the battery and the phone itself
2. check the IMEI on the phone and the box is the same
3. the phone usage time shouldn't be high (so far my usage time on my HD havent been reset even though i has flashed to another ROM, but there might be method to reset it)
4. check out the phone package, items that should come with the phone
5. buy from a reputable seller / shop

sure you want to get HD? although it good, but newer products has since come out, try look at other alternatives as newer phones tend to have better support...

I agree, buying a HD now is not the wisest choice. In 3 months time you will be itching to upgrade to HD2. The difference in price of HD and HD2 is not substantial but the performance is

Agreed at a price difference of RM500 is not worth buying new. It is better buy used,a s used sets now selling around 1.5K only ; I managed to sell off mine a 10 months old set at 1.7K

me, most probably not...rumored that HTC will announcing Hero successor in February 15th...

IMO, although HD2 is a "beast" but it just doesnt appeal to me as much, HTC still providing crappy graphics driver (just look at chainfire's graphic driver mode, and the improvement is obvious)...i think i'll just hold on to HD for a longer time and wait for windows mobile 7, which should be out in 1 year's time?

agree with benny888, if possible get a good 2nd hand unit...

anyone went to PC fair? last time i bought my HD in PC fair they accept trade-in, how much are they willing to rebate if you trade in HD for HD2 (if there's stock)? wondering if they accept if you flashed to custom ROM

you mean HTC HeRo Android?? was using it previously it is a great devices, all those Sense UI widget really work far better than WinMo Manila.
had to jump back to WinMo due to some apps and already get used to BIG Screen.
