ya, rite rite. only 1 player i remember, Jason Euell i guess. what division are they now?
Wimbledon are now known as MK Dons and unless I'm mistaken they are in the 3rd Division. Leeds are another once strong club that has fallen from grace...

I'm pretty surprised that so many here think Sheffield United will avoid the drop. I back them to go down with Watford and possibly... Charlton. I'm backing West Ham to survive as I think Curbishley has done really well over the years keeping Charlton in the Premiership all these years.

Sheff Utd have just lost Rob Hulse for the entire season. His loss is a massive blow to them.

yes i do agree with you....
this was cause by their financial problem they have which starts their relegation...
i do remember the time when viduka and smith was still playing for leeds...
they weren't that bad actually...
Peter Risdale really screwed things up but taking out huge loans in view of the TV rights and sponsorship revenue expected from European qualification. After having made it to the 2001 Champions League semi-final however, Leeds failed to qualify for the tournament the following year and had to sell their star players to finance their loans. This is where the decline all began. It wasn't that long ago I remember seeing the likes of Gary Kelly, Ian Harte, Lee Chapman, David Batty and Anthony Yeboah play with some degree of regularity. Leeds were a team I made a point to watch play at the time. Such was their stature at the time that they managed to attract Swedish stars Thomas Brolin and Martin Dahlin (who were pretty crap really). Their biggest signing however was arguably Eric Cantona. How things have changed since then. While I have nothing against Gus Poyet, being relegated just shows what a crap manager Dennis Wise is, he should have stayed at Millwall.

What an amazing end to the season. Few would have thought that West Ham would get all 3 against Man Utd. Wigan earned it though, by beating the blades away.

Neil Warnock shall not be missed:

QUOTE
Adios Warnock you hypocrite
Written by Matt Ladson on May 13th, 2007

Neil Warnock and Sheffield United have been relegated. Good riddance to the moaning, loud mouthed hypocrite.

Warnock recently complained about Rafa Benitez's resting of first choice players in their game against Fulham and questioned Benitez's integrity as a manager. Warnock though was confident his chum Alex Ferguson would play a strong side against West Ham today as he has morales.

Well screw you Warnock, Ferguson played a bloody reserve team and lost - and because of that you got relegated.

But the hypocrite has selective memory, even according to former Sheff United manager Dave Bassett. Anyone remember Warnock playing a weakened team at Old Trafford as he saw it as a match lost already and rested players for bigger games like West Ham at home? Indeed.

Here's what Bassett had to say last week in the Yorkshire Post:

"Neil goes on about other teams fielding weakened sides, but he was not complaining when Liverpool put out a reserve side on the opening day of the season or when his side beat Arsenal's reserves over Christmas.

"Blimey, ****ne Wenger played Aliadiere, Flamini, Baptista and Hoyte which was probably the worst side Arsenal have put out this season. I think Neil Warnock has got a convenient memory. He should remember that he is four points better off thanks to Liverpool and Arsenal.

"Why should Alex Ferguson be bothered whether it is Sheffield United or West Ham who stay up? And why should Rafael Benitez be bothered when he is preparing his side for a Champions' League final? It is not their problem and, as a manager, you have to do what is best for your team."

Can't blame on reading..they do not have enuff $ to buy decent players..and lose steve sidwell to chelsea for free...Hope they will do well in championship//All the best!

As you've hinted, their downfalls stems from the fact that they added nothing new to their squad and became predictable. Sidwell made a bad career move if you ask me, much like Scott Parker did when he signed for Chelsea. He had the likes of Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Jon Obi Mikel, Claude Makalele and Michael Essien to compete with. What was he thinking?

The moolah? When Chelsea comes knocking, its hard to say no. Still a bad move career wise though, barely got enuff games. And he's the bloke with the no. 9 jersey right? Gone are the days numbers like those were reserved for centre forwards.

Derby was a joke. Undeservingly scraped thru the playoffs and been super poor in the league. 11 points in 38 games? Gosh.

True, Shaun Wright Phillips made the same mistake if you can call it that, and he was knocking on England's door. Now he is behind David Bentley and Aaron Lennon in the pecking order. Speaking of no. 9's , Wasn't Bouhlarouz wearing no.9 as well?

Derby's record will prove difficult to beat no doubt. Just 1 win and 8 draws??? It shows the gulf between the Premiership and the rest of the league doesn't it? Fulham should have some money to add to their squad but I'm interested to see how Sunderland will get on last season if they don't add to their squad. There is a possibility they might lose their most potent threat to me, Kenwyn Jones who has impressed.
