Weather it's a worthy upgrade or not depends on how much you're willing to spend on the receiver and sub. If you can get at least the Yamaha RX-V663 and spend around RM1.5k for the sub then you'll definitely have a much better setup compared to the Gigaworks thumbup.gif

I couldn't agree more with arj.

Craven,

The yammy 663 will probally set you up around 1.8K but i think it could be attained lower as newer model are coming up.
Doesn't the the Quintet III comes with a 10" sub?

These combination I'm sure it even beats those HTIBs around.
I came across these satellites two weeks ago, and they are pretty good even on music.
The advantages of buying an AVR compared to a HTIBs are that you'll be able to upgrade by parts.
If you needed a better front speakers for music, you can still use back the Quintets for surround and you'll get a 7.1 setup with the 663.

If you have about 4K to spend, I guess this setups will not go wrong.
I think arj started up with satellites as well, so did I.

Cheers,

Not good in describing the sound but I think the sound is open, wide soundstage, very good details in high without being harsh, surprisingly good bass for small 5 1/4" driver. The center speaker dialog is so clear even in the midst of busy scene.

Eagles Hotel California never sounded so good to me. Even Aaron Neville who's not one of my favorite sounded so good on Klipsch with Marantz AV amp (5003 if I'm not mistaken).

All in all, for a very reasonable price I finally found something that impress me both in movies and music and very enjoyable to listen to (for the time being brows.gif )

Highly recommended but of course being a very subjective subject, do audition first.

Waa I bet now you hands are itching all the way till your babies arrive ... hahah ... But they are well built, and surprisingly very affordable ... So who are you going to thank?
